Ok, I know Mickey Rourke isn’t really relevant, or interesting for that matter, but i just had to post this picture.  Seriously, how cute is this picture?  Above is a picture of Mickey hanging out with his dog, Jaws, at LAX.  Look how happy they are just hangin’ around, probably scoping out some hot chicks and bitches.  Look how comfortable they seem with one another.  Notice how Jaws isn’t wearing a leash yet has no desire to leave?

Are you a dog person?  I am a dog person.  If your aren’t, you probably won’t understand this picture.  If you are, and you have a dog, you will totally get this picture and it will leave you aching to see your furry friend.  I have two dogs.  Two amazing, wonderful, cute, loyal dogs.  My husband and I rescued them.  One from the SPCA and one from ARF.  I think all dogs are amazing, but I believe that dogs that are rescued, love in a very special way; they know they  have been saved.  Mine do.

My one dog, Stan, and I have an a connection that no one else understands.  We hang out, we chat, we nap together, he knows when I am sad, when I am sick…he is one of my best friends.  Mickey lost his oldest dog, Loki, right before the Oscars this year.  He has credited her with saving his life when he was at the lowest parts of his addictions and depressions.  He said when he would just lay on the floor in a pit of dispair, Loki would come and lay beside him and remind him why he was there.  He lived for her.  He wore a pendent with her picture in it the night of the awards ceremony.  I always thought he was a little weird, but when I read and saw that, it broke my heart a little and he seemed a little less crazy to me.

Anyways, the point of the post was how cute these two were together, how human Jaws makes Mickey seem.  In a place like Hollywood where these people must question every relationship they have, can you imagine how valuable the type of unwaivering  love a dog can give is? They love you now matter what (or in Mickey’s case, what you look like).    I guess that’s why they are called man’s best friend.

Tanya: This is a cute picture. Perhaps one of the few lately where Mickey Rourke seems… normal. He comes across as a really weird guy. How much of it is true? No idea. Maybe he’s just misunderstood?
