If I learned anything from being with my husband for 6 years before getting married its that no matter how much you want to get married it will only happen when the man is ready to do so.  And the last thing in the world you should be doing is dropping hints about it in front of his friends.  Or in Vanessa Minnillo’s case, to celebrity rags such as People Magazine.

Vanessa was apparently in Vegas and doing an brief interview when she dropped the hint about marriage 3 times.  Here is an exerpt from the article:

“Pointing to a 5-carat ring on her middle finger, Minnillo, 28, tells Las Vegas columnist Robin Leach, “It will be 10 carats when it moves to the fourth finger!”

Leach says she was laughing when she said it. But in the course of a brief interview posted on his Vegas Deluxe blog Minnillo mentions marriage three times.

Noting that Lachey, 35, couldn’t make it to Vegas with her because he was at a friend’s birthday party, she pouted, “So once again it looks as if I’m always the bridesmaid but never the bride.”

Not that there’s a problem, she quickly adds. “This romance is still going strong,” she says. “There will always be rumblings and rumors that we’ve broken up, but in fact, it’s very much still on – and it keeps on getting better.”

So much so that, “Maybe this will be the one time I wind up the bride instead of the bridesmaid!”~

Well, if this doesn’t send Nick running for the hills I don’t know what will.  Because Vanessa sounds like a marriage-crazy desperate, unhappy girlfriend.  And making a man feel like he has to get married is a sure fire way to ensure you don’t get married.

If I were Nick I would shy away from marriage, especially after Jessica Simpson.  And especially after this interview.  Crazy much?

Tanya: Urgh. Not a good move. No one likes to be publicly pressured, especially when it comes to marriage or children. These are conversations to have with each other.

I don’t think Nick should shy away from marriage, but I do think he should shy away from reality TV shows. They will ruin your marriage.
