If you recall, earlier this week Tanya mused about the crappy parenting skills of Miley Cyrus’ parents after her lovely performance where she danced around a stripper pole.  Miley and her parents have been catching a bit of flack (and rightly so) after many people questioned…who the hell lets their 16 year old daughter dance around a stripper pole on national television?  Well, this is what Billy Ray had to say:

“You know what? I just think that Miley loves entertaining people,”…

“She loves singing [and] songwriting,”…

“I always tell her to love what you’re doing and stay focused for the love of the art and not worry so much about opinion,”…

“I give my kids a lot of freedom to make the art they wanna make, and make it in their own voice. I think it’s important”.

Well ok then.  You are just giving her the freedom to create the art she wants to create.  Because she loves to entertain people.  That explains it.  What a great father!

You know, Billy Ray Cyrus and his wife Tish might be the worst parents I have ever heard of…and mostly because of how totally clueless they are.  You can entertain people and not dance on a stripper pole…I know, its hard to believe but its true.

This is what makes me so sad for the world…

T: Did you see the video of Baby Cyrus working the stipper pole at a dance party? It was wrong. 16… too young. 9? WAAAAAAYYYYY too young. This reminds me of grade 4 when I watched Pretty Woman and wanted to be a prostitute for Halloween. My parents let me. I had the super short cut off shorts some fishnet tights and a bodysuit. I wore some old heels of my mom’s and even equiped myself with a fake cigarette. Needless to say, my grandmas weren’t very pleased. I didn’t grow up to be a prostitute, and the Cyrus girls will probably not grow up to be stippers, but I still think that the parading of the sexuality of young girls is something we shouldn’t encourage.
