Even though it means that we will no longer have photos like these ones of David Beckham crying at his grandfather’s funeral, I’m glad that the Governator passed the “Anti-Paparazzi” law.

This new law will fine paparazzi for taking photos that invade a celebrity’s right to privacy (such as hiding in their bushes to get photos of new babies, or long-lensing their prescription bottles) and will target media outlets who purchase the photos.

Hopefully this will cut down on paparazzi-induced car accidents, mental breakdowns, and celebs fighting with photographers for being in their face (aside: if you are standing close enough for a celeb to punch you in the face, you are standing TOO close!). But sadly, it will also cut down on the good smutty photos we love so much. At least while celebs are in California.

Stacey: I think this is a very good thing.  While I want a peak at their life, I am also ok with it being at a safe respectable distance.  I couldn’t imagine living the life that some of these people live.  yes, they chose it but grieving at your grandfathers funeral should be private.
