I don’t have children so I don’t really “get” the whole drooling all over everything your child does.  Like when parents crap their pants over the first sound their baby makes or the first time they roll over or the first time the use the potty.  I don’t get it.  In fact, I think children should come out already able to do those things.  Which is part of the reason I don’t want kids…because I don’t have that kind of patience.  I trained both my dogs to go outside in about one day a piece.  Anything more than that is just too much commitment for me.

And this statement from Katie Holmes about Suri is too much.  From her interview with New York Magazine:

“Whatever (Suri) wants to do, I know she’s going to be amazing at it. I’ve already started my applause, and I will be applauding for the rest of my life.”

Blach.  Seriously?  I get wanting to support and encourage your kids but this is just too much.  Its just so…cheesy and over the top.  Like, so cheesy I feel like I might vomit in my mouth a little.  Why do I always feel like what ever Katie speaks?  Its like she has pre-programmed dialogue pulled from some cheesy book written by one of those romance novel writers?  Its always so butterflies and rainbows and gumdrops and teddy bears.  Real people don’t speak this way!

Look, we all love Suri, but this is a little too much.

Tanya: Really?! You really think that her saying she’s going to applause for Suri for the rest of her life is cheezy? I think that’s fine. In fact, I think that’s awesome. Way better than “I know she’ll try stuff and probably only be mediocre at it so I’m not even going to watch her events, I’ll just send the nanny until I hear that she’s found something she’s good at. She’ll have to get good at something before I applaud her for it.”

Even though we disagree on that, I do agree with you that most of the stuff out of her mouth sounds like programmed BS. My fave line from that interview is this:

But I mean, he’s Tom Cruise! His body of work is incredible. Every movie he’s done has done really well. I look back, and everything’s a classic.

I think she must have missed the critically acclaimed (for sucking hard core) Tom Cruise movie Cocktail
