Happy Birthday to everyone’s favorite train wreck, Britney Spears.

Brit Brit turns the ripe old age of 29 today.  And in her 29 years she has birthed two little boys, been divorced twice, has won a Grammy, and AMA, a World Music Award, 5 billboard awards, sold over 32 million albums, had multiple stays in rehab and a psych ward as well as dated Justin Timberlake and Colin Farrell.  Girl must be exhausted because that is a lot of life to live in 29 years.

I hope her next 29 years are less drama filled than the last.  But bless her heart for being good tabloid fodder.  Some days she has been so entertaining it has actually brought joy to my life and other days she has been so heart breaking it has actually made me sad.

Miley Cyrus officially turns 18 today.

I am actually really excited for this.  Because I am pretty sure we can expect the same ridiculous behavior from her that we saw from Lindsay/Britney/Christina.

Because, you know, when you turn 18 and you have been repressed for years and years, you want to prove to the world you are a woman.  And what better way to do that than slutting it up, hitting the clubs, and making out with some other child star in a bar?

Ah, to be young and stupid again.

In the immortal words of Alice Cooper….I’m 18 and I like it!

Tanya: With the legal drinking age in California being 21 I don’t understand why all these young ladies are in it at 18? Nevermind, I totally understand – the club owner knows that you want Miley/Britney/Lindsay there because it brings in other people. And you can always claim they “aren’t drinking”.

As much fun as it is to watch someone crash and burn, it’s also really, really sad. I hope we don’t get to see Miley’s downward spiral because I’d really like for her to grow into an adult in a somewhat normal fashion.

Happy Birthday to Cammie D who is turning 38.  Good gawd.  Too look like that at any age, let alone 38, is amazing.  Girl is gorgeous.  Her only problem?  Dating that giant d-bag, Alex Rodriguez.  How does this guy pull tail like he does?  It astounds me.

What astounds me even more is the seemingly none existent girl code going on here.  Alex has dated Madonna, Cameron, and Kate Hudson who are all friends through Gwyneth Paltrow.  I’m sorry, but isn’t that a big no no?  What does this guy have that has caused all these hot girls (or Grandma’s in Madonna’s case) to be so uncool to one another?

It must be his picture of himself as half man, half centaur he has hanging above his bed.

Tanya: The ladies might like him because of this, or because of this. Maybe instead of the usual “don’t sleep with my ex’s” girl code they’re pulling the “omg you don’t know what you’re missing!” girl code and encouraging each other to try out ARod’s centaur loins.

At the ripe old age of 27, this piece of information made me feel incredibly old.

Macaulay Culkin turned 30 today.  30!  Can you believe it.  The little kid from Home Alone is now 30?

Maybe I find it so hard to believe because the only time I ever actually see Macaulay is in Home Alone (I watch it every year at X-mas) and to me, he never appears to actually age.

Tanya: Hmmm, this doesn’t make me feel old at all. I actually get the opposite – each time I see Home Alone I think “WOW he was so little then!”

Alexander Skarsgard has found himself a pretty nice following over the past few years playing Eric on True Blood and even though Stacey and I debate his hotness here on ISS, I think most people will agree with me that he is definitely “hot”.

Because I give him so much love I’ve decided to celebrate his birthday by insinuating that Alexander Skarsgard is gay. See pictures below as evidence:

Stacey:  Not hot.  More proof of that and insinuating he is gay here.  But happy birthday to him.  If I were him, I would keep a watchful eye on that GF of his, Kate Bosworth.  I suspect her as a life force sucker as well.

Wow.  Madonna actually looked really great last night for her birthday bash.  No scary arm gristle, no alarming cheek bones, great dress, great color.

We give Madge a lot of crap here sometimes because let be honest, while she is a legend, she is a frightening, frightening  woman.  But no matter how frightening she is, all I can say is I hope I look half as good as she does when I am her age.  Home girl is 52.  52!  Think of other women you know who are 52 and now think of Madonna.  Its pretty decent by comparison.  If only she looked like this more often and less like this.  The world would be a better place.

Tanya: While I do agree that she looks better than usual here, it’s just weird. Here’s a pic of her when she was 27 (25 years ago!), a pic of Annette Benning who was also born in 1958, and a pic of Scarlett Johansson who is 26. Madonna’s ‘work’ might look good when she’s on stage or posing for pictures (who am I kidding, you know that’s all photoshopped), but in real life it’s creepy. If I was at a party with Madonna, Scarlett Johansson and Annette Benning I’d admire Scarlett for her youthful beauty, respect Annette for her work and the wisdom that comes with age, and I’d stare at Madonna and just think about her face and what she’s done with it. It would distract me from thinking about her extensive career and influence because I’d be more afraid of her flexing her Herculean arms and demanding that Jesus Luz give her some more South American blood so she can swoop down over a small African village and grab another child in her scaly claws.

It’s the same with Micheal Jackson. If I ever met him in person I’d be too busy staring at him trying to see the seam of his prosthetic nose to feel the respect that a musician of that stature deserves.

Happy birthday.  Now here’s a punch in the face!

According to Us Weekly, that’s how it went down for Lindsay Lohan when she was out celebrating her 41st 24th birthday last night.  She was out at a club in LA hanging out with Doug Reinhardt when a waitress walked up and punched her in the face.  Apparently, the waitress has a history with Doug and was jealous and hit Lindsay “for no reason”.

You know, I would feel bad if this happened to any other person other than Lindsay but this girl brings it on herself.  What is she doing hanging out with another of Paris’ ex boyfriends anyways?  And why is she always out at clubs?  Shouldn’t someone who is trying to repair her image maybe stay at home one night a week?

Tanya: Because it’s her birthday I’m going to let Lindz in a little secret: Clubs = trouble. I know, I know, that’s a little too deep for the Friday of a long weekend, but let me explain. People don’t generally walk up and punch you in the face unless they’ve been drinking. And people don’t get pulled over under suspicion of driving under the influence unless they’re driving recklessly, which also tends to happen after you’ve been partaking in drugs or alcohol, both of which tend to happen at the clubs. And the photos of people who look like they couldn’t even tell you which way was up? You guessed it; those pictures of wasted celebrities get taken right outside of the club.

I can’t guarantee that Lindsay Lohan won’t get punched in the face if she goes to see a late night movie, but I’d say it’s less likely to happen there than if she went to the club.

But, uh, Happy Birthday Lindz. Hopefully this upcoming year is better than the last one has been.
