Did you watch Game of Thrones?  If not, you are missing out.  Because it was, like, amazing.  I am currently on the second book in the series which that show is based on.  So excited for the second season.  If you don’t watch the show, then you probably don’t know who Kit Harington is.  He plays Jon Snow, the bastard son or Eddard Stark.

Maybe that is why he looks so sad…because he knows that once they start filming he has to go back to the Wall, to the freezing cold, where the Others and other unknown dangers are waiting.

But seriously, he  has nothing to be sad about.  Game of Thrones is nominated for 13 Emmys tonight.  Hopefully it wins some awards.

But sometimes the association of a celebrity and your brand can kill your brand. Like Ed Hardy and all the douchy D-List “celebrities” that wear it.

Well, Abercrombie & Fitch doesn’t want to be known as douch-wear so they’ve asked The Situation to please stop wearing their clothes. And have offered to pay them to do so. This is their statement on the issue:

“We are deeply concerned that Mr. Sorrentino’s association with our brand could cause significant damage to our image,” a rep for the clothier said. “We understand that the show is for entertainment purposes, but believe this association is contrary to the aspirational nature of our brand, and may be distressing to many of our fans.”
Fans, customers, same thing. In any case, while the Sitch is the only one who got the formal namecheck in the statement, A&F hasn’t singled him out, and in fact offered the same payment to the entirety of the housemates.
“We have also extended this offer to other members of the cast, and we are urgently waiting a response.”

This is great marketing on two levels: 1) this story is so ridiculous that it’s going to get covered. Coverage = lots of free marketing, and 2) saying that you’re too good for Jersey Shore is calling out JS for being lame. When you’re marketing to teenagers you want to declare anything that was cool last year to be lame now and to be “totally over it”. By being over it you’ve established your right to remain popular. (You remember that from high school, don’t you?)

Stacey: I don’t know how I feel about this.  While I wouldn’t want those douches to wear my clothing line either, isn’t A&F just hitching their wagon to Jersey Shore’s by associating with them anyways?  Seems kind of like a backhanded compliment to me.  Like their acknowledging that JS is really really popular but also that they are douches.  

BTW, A&F’s stock dropped after this little stunt.  Interesting.

At the risk of getting thrown the side eye from Tanya, I wanted to remind everyone that my favorite girl, Coco, and hubby Ice-T have a reality show starting this Sunday on E! called Ice Loves Coco.

In Ice-T’s words, the show is about him and Coco and how she basically runs his life.

These two are so so cute together.  If you don’t believe me, watch this clip of them when they were on a British game show together.  So funny.  I love how Ice is like a crotchety old but still totally cool rapper dude and Coco is this young, blond bombshell always wanting to have fun.  How can you not love that?  They seem perfect for each other.  This is why I would love to double date with them.

For any of you who still care, Charlie Sheen has officially been replaced on Two and a Half Men.  And just when you thought they couldn’t find anyone more douchey than Charlie Sheen, they managed to find someone both more douchey and more annoying…Ashton Kutcher.

And the class act that Charlie is, he had this to say:

“Kutcher is a sweetheart and a brilliant comedic performer … Oh wait, so am I!!…Enjoy the show America.  Enjoy seeing a 2.0 in the demo every Monday, WB.”

Ok.  I have grown to detest Charlie Sheen so much that I am actually looking forward to Ashton Kutcher.  Ya.  Amazing, I know.

Tanya: I think I like Ashton Kutcher even less than Charlie Sheen which is pretty impressive. Will I watch the new T&aHM? Definitely not. But did I watch the old one? No.

It feels like it has been FOREVER since last season of True Blood. I even have True Blood amnesia. What happened last season? … Russell Edgington came to town. Eric sold out Bill. Tara got involved with Franklin. Jason hooked up with a panther. Sookie is buddies with a warewolf. Ok, I’m caught up.

So what’s in up in season 4? Well if they cover the book we have Eric going through a bit of an identity crises… should be good!

Megan – we’re going to have to have some True Blood evenings this summer!

That’s like me saying I hope to have won a Nobel Peace Prize in physics by the time I’m 35. If people aren’t giving you movie roles you’re never going to win an Oscar. And frankly, no one with the good Oscar roles is looking to Lindsay Lohan now, or in the next five years.

Stacey: The issue here is that Lindsay assumes that once she proves she is “better” people will give her roles because she is a “good actress”.  I have news for you, Lindsay Lohan…you aren’t that great of an actress, sober or not.

It was bound to happen eventually and I really couldn’t be happier.

According to TMZ, my main girl Coco has a reality TV show in the works and has already begun filming.  If this is what her Twitter page is like, imagine what her reality TV show will be like.

If TV has been called the Boob Tube can we now call it Butt Tube?  Wait, that sounds weird.  Like we are going to be watching colonoscopies or something…

Tanya: I think “Boob Tube” is still a great word for the thing that brings you Coco. Sure she’s a lot of butt, but she’s also a whole lot of boob.

Krissy might be the only one who gets this: does this guy not look like Charlie Day from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia – if Charlie brushed his teeth and got some highlights? He even looks like he was probably sniffing glue or eating cat food right before this photo was taken.

Remember a couple of months ago when Ryan Murphy, creator of Glee, went on a tirade and said “F#%K You” and a bunch of other temper tantrum-y stuff to Kings of Leon after they refused to allow their songs to be used on Glee?

Here is the quote again in case you missed it:

“F— you, Kings of Leon. They’re self-centered a–holes, and they missed the big picture. They missed that a 7-year-old kid can see someone close to their age singing a Kings of Leon song, which will maybe make them want to join a glee club or pick up a musical instrument. It’s like, OK, hate on arts education. You can make fun of Glee all you want, but at its heart, what we really do is turn kids on to music.”

Well, apparently thats not what he really meant.

“I didn’t speak with as much clarity as I would have liked,” Ryan explained to The Hollywood Reporter on Friday of his comments. “Who am I to say ‘F**k you?’ That’s not what I meant. I completely understand when artists don’t want a show or another artist to interpret their songs. In fact, I respect it. It’s their personal work and I’d feel the same way. We get turned down all the time and I’ve don’t fight it or even go back after a rejection.”

“I’ve never felt that if you don’t give Glee your music, there’s something diabolical about you,” he added. “To the contrary: I support artists and what they choose to do… I think Kings of Leon are cool as shit. The Foo Fighters are brilliant. We’d love to do one if their songs, if they were ever interested. But if it’s not their thing, then OK. I personally wish them luck will still listen to their music.”

Oh, so when you said “F#%k you” and said that they missed the “big picture”, that isn’t really what you meant.  What you really meant was that you understood and there wasn’t any hard feelings?

Wow.  I guess I have been using “F#%k you” wrong all these years.  Because when I say “F#%k you” what I really mean to say is “F#%k you”.  I guess I should be using it when telling someone that I respect them and what they have to say.

You know what happened here?  Ryan said those things and meant them, but somewhere down the road, when others like Slash and The Foo Fighters echoed KOL, he maybe realized that he isn’t perfect and his sh%t stinks just like every body elses.  Maybe he should also be apologizing to Slash, who we called stupid.  But I guess if “F#%k you” doesn’t really mean “F#%K you”, then calling someone stupid probably means something else too, right?

Tanya: Instead of saying things are “cool as sh!t” now I’m just going to say “f#ck you”.

Stacey: Check out this new jacket. It never gets dirty and every time I put my hand in the pocket I pull out a $20!”

Me: “F#ck you!”
… Actually, that is probably what I would have said anyway so I think this is going to be a smooth transition.
