Perusing gossip sites I see a lot of pics from movie sets. Like this one of Batman and Bane fighting from the new Batman movie. I think the studios encourage this so that they can drum up excitement for their upcoming movies but honestly, these are starting to kill movies for me. It’s like watching a trailer that gives away all the good parts of the movie. Then I end up sitting through the movie feeling like I’ve already seen it before.

Obviously Bane and Batman are going to fight in the movie but I don’t want to know where, what the costumes look like, or who else is involved. I want to go into the movie with no preconceived notions about what is going to happen and let myself be entertained without going “I’ve seen them shoot this and know what is going to happen next” and I feel like I don’t get that opportunity anymore.

Movie directors – please keep your sets closed. Thx.

I am actually really surprised they are allowing any photos to leak for this movie as all of Christopher Nolan’s movies are generally shrouded in secrecy.  I heard a rumor that for Inception, actors had to sign on without having read the scripts.  And the last Batman movie was so well protected that when the first trailer came out it didn’t even have a shot of the new Joker so that it could be a surprise when the movie came out.

And honestly, I am judging this movie already.  The costumes actually look kinda lame.  Lets hope the whole movie isn’t lame.  Because that would suck.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s role in the upcoming The Dark Knight Rises has been revealed – he’ll be playing Alberto Falcone. Alberto Falcone is the son of mob boss Carmine Falcone and becomes the Holiday Killer.

This is way better than the rumour that Joseph Gordon-Levitt was going to be cast as the Riddler.

Stacey: This will be a great fit.  I am so looking forward to this movie!

Tom Hardy will be playing Bane in the upcoming The Dark Knight Rises and he’s already getting into the mood with a Batman t-shirt. To really set the scene he should rip it in half like he’s symbolically destroying Batman. Too theatrical for the airport? Maybe.

Stacey: Too theatrical?  Maybe.  But awesome?  Yes!

I could not be less enthusiastic about the news released by Chris Nolan today about the new cast members to The Dark Knight Rises.

Apparently, the have cast Tom Hardy as Bane…ok, that I am pretty excited about.

But then they cast Anne Hathaway as Catwoman.  Say what?

Ya, not really sure where they are going with this but I just can’t picture it.  Anne Hathaway is so sugary sweet that she makes my teeth hurt when I look at her.  Well, I guess, at least it’s not Cher which was being rumored for a while.

That being said, I also could totally not picture Heath Ledger as the Joker and he ended up playing it perfectly.  So maybe I just need to have some faith in Mr. Nolan’s choices?  I’ll try, but this trying comes with some serious side eye.

Anyways, here are some random pictures of Tom Hardy because or you horny bitches out there who love him have been generating a lot of traffic to our site.  So, what our readers want, our readers get!  Can’t wait to see him as Bane!

Tanya: I’m all for Tom Hardy as Bane. Do you think he’ll break Batman’s back or do you think they’ll end it before that? I think Christopher Nolan only has a 3 movie deal so there probably won’t be another one.

Anne Hathaway as Catwoman. I can see it but I’m hesitant about doing the whole Catwoman thing again. Sure she’s one of the bigger villains in Batman and Michelle Pfeiffer did a good job with her, but after Halle Berry I just can’t think of Catwoman without flinching. I really hope Anne Hathaway nails this one. I would say “Christopher Nolan knows what he’s doing and casts people that are perfect for the role” but he cast Katie Holmes as Rachel Dawes in the first one so I have my reservations about his judgment sometimes.

Christopher Nolan has released the name of the third and upcoming Batman movie…

The Dark Knight Rises.

Awesome.  Remember at the end of the last one where Batman convinces Commissioner Gordon to publicly hold Batman responsible for Harvey Dent’s death so that Gotham doesn’t lose hope and he smashes the Bat signal?  Ya, I can only imagine where this is going to go.

And he also revealed that despite speculation, The Riddler will not be the villan in this movie, but instead:

“We’ll use many of the same characters as we have all along, and we’ll be introducing some new ones”

So excited! 

I love Harry Potter, but I am way more excited for this movie.  Which is pretty excited because I am already a little unhinged about the new HP.

Tanya: I CANNOT WAIT!!!!!

Tom Hardy is said to be signing with Christopher Nolan for the upcoming Batman 3 which is probably second on my “OMG I CAN’T WAIT TO SEE THIS!!!” list only to Harry Potter.

So now we speculate. Who is Tom Hardy going to play?

I’ve heard some people throw around “The Riddler” but I’ve also heard a rumour that Joseph Gordon-Levitt was in talks to play The Riddler and JGL just seems to fit the part better.

Who is left? There are so many villains to work with, but a lot of them are kinda ridiculous so I don’t know where Nolan is going to go with this. Bane? Clayface? Penguin? Unless he’s being signed to play Robin!! HA! I don’t think that’s going to happen.

You know who I really want to see in the next Batman installment? Harley Quinn <3

Stacey: Ooooo ya, Harley Quinn.  Who do you think could play her?  I would also like to see Poison Ivy re-done.  I like Uma Thurman, but her P.I. was lame!

According to I Don’t Like You in That Way Joseph Gordon Levitt might be up for the role of the Riddler in Batman 3. Keep in mind the script isn’t done yet so this is all gossip and heresay, but I think Joe-Go would be a great Riddler. I would also like Batman 3 to get into production already!

Stacey: Yes!  More Batman please!  And Joe-Go would totally rock as a Riddler.  Love it!

Normally, I have a serious quiver for any many that plays Batman or even dresses like Batman.  I know, its a little weird but its something I have had ever since I was younger and saw Michael Keaton in Batman.  Please.  He was so hot.  To this day, when ever I watch that movie I still think he is hot.  And that has carried on through my whole life.  You know on Halloween when you go to the bar and there is always one guy dressed as Batman?  I always thought he was hot.  Until now.  Russell Brand gives me the heebie geebies.

But still, this picture is so freaking funny.  Why is he dressed like this?  Whatever the reason, its making Monday morning a little easier to take.

Tanya: Michael Keaton? Gross.

Russell Brand is in this get-up to flim “Arthur” which I know pretty much nothing about other than Helen Mirren is in it. So, it must be good? This outfit doesn’t heebie-jeebie-me like it’s doing to you though. I don’t believe Russell Brand as Batman, but I do believe him as a dude dressed in a Batman costume. I think the utility belt looks pretty practical for him.

Stacey: Yes, Tanya, Michael Keaton as Batman was hot.  This outfit is so funny.  Check out the back.

Tanya: The bum is hilarious. As is the quick access zipper in the front. I guess if you’re drinking that much you’re probably also peeing a lot too.

There are few movies for which I will pre-buy tickets and wait in line for the midnight showing for, but Batman is one of them*. I LOVED the last 2 Batman flicks with Christopher Nolan and Christian Bale so I’m super excited that they’ve announced that the 3rd one will be released July 20, 2012. There is no script/plot info, filming schedule, or cast information yet. The only things we know is that Christopher Nolan is directing and Christian Bale will be back as Batman. Yay! 

*Harry Potter is the other one.

Stacey: I will be waiting in line with you, Tanya!  I L-O-V-E these movies.  I love everything Batman.  I remember sitting in the theatres watching the last one, waiting for the movie to start, literally vibrating from excitement.  I can’t wait to find out which villian they will be going with.  Personally, I would love to see Poison Ivy again.
