    Russell Simmons on Chris Brown:

“Chris is suffering from the same thing as almost every young star has gone through, including the Disney kids. And, having lost control, some of these young artists, sometimes, do an unspeakable thing at a moment of time. And they pay the price,” …. “What’s not fair is artists paying the price of the sins in their young lives for the rest of their lives”

“I’m just saying, give this man a break. I spoke to him last night for a long time and I know how good of a young man he is”

Oh ya, Russell.  It’s really unfair that he is being held accountable to his dangerous and violent actions.  We should just let him do what ever he wants and cut him some slack because he is an “artist”.  And you are totally right.  He IS a good young man.  I know all the good young men I know go around beating their girlfriends and smashing windows with chairs.

No.  Do you know what good young men do?  They don’t make excuses for themselves and don’t allow others to make excuses for them.  They behave in a way that shows that they have truly learned and are genuinely sorry for their actions.  And the eat sh*t for as long as they have too.

What Chris doesn’t realize, and apparently what others around him don’t realize, is that respect and forgiveness is earned and given to those who deserve it.  And Chris hasn’t shown anyone that he has done either of these things.  And blaming the line of questioning for a violent outburst isn’t earning anyone’s respect.  In fact, it is probably doing the exact opposite.  It is making people realize he doesn’t deserve their forgiveness or respect.  Because he is a big, spoiled baby.

Tanya: People would probably lay off the questions if he handled them better. But people who go crazy = better ratings so of course they’re going to push his buttons.

And we DO give people a break. When they admit they’ve made a mistake, take actions to correct it, and then show continued improvement in their behaviours. This is why we give Robert Downey Jr respect and Lindsay Lohan gets none.

Chris Brown tends to get really whiny about how the media always tried to bring him down so I never post about him. That and he’s a giant douche. To prove how he’s totally over his anger problem and just trying to live his life he smashed a window, ripped off his shirt and threatened a producer at ABC this morning when during an interview he was asked a question about that one time when he totally smashed Rihanna’s face in:

We’re told after the interview, Brown freaked out, storming into his dressing room and screaming so loud, the people in hair and makeup became alarmed and called security.
We’re told Brown was out of control, and one source present tells us he smashed a window in his dressing room, and the glass shattered and some shards fell onto 43rd and Broadway.
We’re told by the time security rushed the area, Brown had ripped off his shirt and left the building, blowing off another performance he was supposed to do for the ABC website.
And sources say … on his way out of the building, Brown confronted a segment producer, got in his face and stared him down. People from the show got in between Chris and the producer to diffuse the situation. (from TMZ)

You know when we will stop hating on Chris Brown for being an entitled douche with a serious anger management problem? When he stops being one.

Stacey: Not to sound too cliche or anything but, dude, you need to learn to walk the walk if you are going to talk the talk.  He has complained in the past that he if he has done his court mandated community service and has made his piece with God and made piece with himself than so should we.  And you know, there is a little part of me that agrees.  Should we condemn someone for the rest of their life for a crime, even something as severe as what happened here?  But the issue lies in that he keeps showing us again and again that he HASN’T learned from anything and he still thinks that HE is the victim.  Until this dill hole can show some true remorse, some true growth, some true effort to heal then the public, myself included, will continue to think he is a woman beater.

One would think that after being convicted of beating his ex-girlfriend, Rihanna, to a pulp that Chris Brown would avoid being photographed with anyone looking like they have been beat up.

    Guess not.

Apparently, this is Jean-Paul Gaultier, and he is made up for his warrior themed fashion show (???).

And Chris wonder’s why nobody likes him.

Come to think of it, this would be a fun “Caption This”.

    Hmmmmm……

Tanya: Oh Chris. Where is your publicist?

So Chris Brown was formerly sentenced yesterday for the horrendous beat down he laid on Rihanna several months ago which includes 1400 hrs community service and staying away from the pop princess for the next 5 years.  TMZ has several stories on their website today detailing all aspects of the sentencing including this ridiculous story saying that Chris Brown has been “depressed” since the attack…

Ok everyone.  All together now.  Lets feel bad for him.  Here! Let me call the waaaaaaaa-mbulance….

Yes, lets recap how depressed he has been.  So depressed that just days after the incident occurred he was seen jet skiing around Miami.  He has been seen at NBA games with a RiRi look alike.  He has been partying ad Diddy’s house.  He has been going out clubs and dancing with girls.  Who, for some unexplained reason, still want him.  Yes, these are definitely the actions of someone who is depressed.

And depressed for what, I might ask?  Because he committed an act so horrible and unthinkable that if he weren’t a celebrity he would be behind bars?  Or because he tarnished his squeaky clean image and career?  Not that this matters…yesterday girls were heard screaming “I love you” to him as he was leaving the courthouse…who are these girls?  And besides, the only real damage that has been done is the Juicy Fruit dropped him as a spokes person.  Oh yes, I can see why he would be depressed.

What is wrong with our world?

Let me be the first to say that I really don’t give a crap if he is depressed.  And that he got off light.  Why is this preson still famous?  I think I would have felt differently about this if he had acted even a little remorseful after what had happened.  Jet skiing in Miami?  Sorry, but that didn’t win my sympathy vote.  And where is te apology to Rihanna?  There wasn’t one.  And there should have been.  A public one.  But days went by and all that happened was him going on with his life.  Depressed?  Cry me a river…

Amber Rose & Chris BrownThe NY Daily Newsis dishing that at P. Diddy’s recent White Party Chris Brown & Amber Rose were seen holding hands, making out in the shadows and kissing on the dance floor. In front of Brown’s girlfriend Teyana Taylor.

Smooth Chris. Now, if any of this is true, you’re a beater AND a cheater.

Now, I’d have to say that Chris Brown is a step down from Kanye, but I can’t decide which one is the least mature. I imaging them both throwing constant hissy fits.

Stacey: I would have to side with Kanye on this one.  Cheaters and abusers are extremely unattractive and Chris is showing that he basically has no morals.  Ick.  Amber Rose, you could do much better.

As far as maturity goes, I think I would have to go with Chris.  Kanye is an overgrown child.

    Who is more mature?

Chris Brown with a Diamond Stormtrooper PendantI saw this photo over at The Superficial with a story about how BET (with heavy influence of Jay-Z and Rev. Al Sharpton) waited to the last minute to tell Chris Brown he wouldn’t be performing at the BET Awards. Meh. If they did it I’m sure it’s for good reason. Like the last minute change to make the show a Michael Jackson tribute.

BUT, why I’m really posting this photo is because of Chris Brown’s bling. How freeking awesome is that?!!! Storm Trooper diamond bling? Sweet! Where do you get something like that? Custom made? How much would you have to pay for that?

My guess is that you’d have to have a jeweler make it. And that you’ll probably regret it when you live on the streets because you bought bling instead of a house. And you won’t be able to sell it because no body who would spend that much to buy your Storm Trooper Diamond Pendant actually has enough money to do so.

The above picture is of Chris Brown at the LA Lakers basketball game the other day with ex-girlfriend whom he allegedly assaulted, Rihan…no wait, that’s not Rihanna.  But someone who looks an awful lot like her, even dresses like her and wears her hair like her.  She even is hanging out with her ex boyfriend.

Apparently, this girl’s name is Teyana Taylor and she is also a singer, much like Rihanna.  One would think that she is trying to mimic RiRi a little bit.  And, really, there are worse people to be compared to.  I, for one, a fan of RiRi.  But don’t be mistaken.  This girl does not want to be compared to the Pop Princess:

“If one more reporter says that I’m Rihanna, I’m gonna go crazy. I look nothin like Rihanna.” she tweeted.

Ok.  So if you know people think you look like her maybe make some type of effort to NOT LOOK LIKE HER!

On that note, there were recently alleged nude photos of Rihanna leaked on line and now there is also an alleged sex tape, with a small clip being leaked on line (WARNING!  Clip NSFW-ish).  I thought that both kind of lookedlike RiRi, but weren’t quite her.  Maybe they are Teyana?  Just a thought.

An article popped up on Us Weeklytoday with Mike Tyson weighing in on the whole Chris Brown/Rihanna thing.  I suppose if anyone has the knowledge on how Chris is feeling it would be Mike.

While the topic is really heavy and serious, Mike’s comments were true and appeared genuine, while also being entertaining, although I am not sure if they were meant to be that.  My favorite part of the article is where Mike blames the “pimp mentality” for playing a part in the situation.  Call me crazy, but Chris Brown doesn’t really strike me as a “pimp” kinda guy.  He strikes me as the sparkly heart shirt kinda guy. Mike goes on to say, “he’s just a baby” and didn’t know how to control his emotions.

“He’s just a little baby that don’t know how to handle his emotions when it comes to a woman. And he probably hears this and thinks, ‘I know how to handle my emotions’; we all think we do…But the fact [is], you look at this person and you might be crazy in love, but we don’t know how to handle those feelings.”

Who would have thought that such true and insightful statements could come from such a strange place?

He also goes on to say “Do I think it’s right to beat up a woman? No — hell no…Have I hit a woman before? Hell yeah. Was I wrong? Hell yeah. I’m a product of that environment. Do I regret ever doing that? Hell yeah. Would I do it again? Never.”

Lets hope all that is true.

PS.  Have you seen pics of Mike Tyson recently…he is fat.  I don’t know why I think this is funny.

Tanya: LOL! He IS fat!! And it IS funny. Laughed out loud when I saw the pic. I’m going to add it to our Facebook group so people can caption it.

On the serious side of things there definitely is a “pimp mentality” for many young (and even older) men that when your woman gets out of line you need to put her back where she belongs. It’s a cycle, like family violence with an extra dash of ‘women are objects’, where you see it happen and learn that it is the right way to handle the situation. 7 years of university and what can I do? I can confirm that the pimp mentality exists and it is most likely strongest in subcultures where women are objectified.
