David Arquette has been a mess since taking a “separation” from Courtney Cox. I put that in quotes because they keep saying they’ll work on it but I don’t see how that could be happening.

David Arquette has been on a bunch of talk shows (most notably Howard Stern) where he goes on and on about how depressed he is, how he’s having a nervous breakdown, how he’s not having a nervous breakdown, how Courtney Cox doesn’t want to be his mom but what he needs is a mom, how he’s having a midlife crisis, how he knows he’s drinking too much, etc, etc. It’s a little much. And now he’s going on and on about how the media is twisting what he is saying.

Dude, you’re a mess. And if you want the media to stop skewing what you’re saying, just please shut your trap. Pull yourself together, go to some councelling and talk to your wife instead of talking to Howard Stern. Please.

This whole thing with David Arquette and Courteney Cox (who, by the way, we have been spelling her name incorrectly) is reminding me of Friends.

So David and Court have separated and have been for a few months and apparently agreed that they could go and do their own thing.  And David apparently did.  Hooking up with some broad who has dated a bunch of other Hollywood peeps.  And apparently everyone is all up in arms over the whole thing.  Is he in the wrong for doing something that they both agreed was ok?

I don’t think so.  They agreed that they could see other people.  So why is it wrong for him to go out with someone else?  Just because people can’t imagine dating someone else besides their spouse, doesn’t mean they can point their judgemental fingers at others for the choices that they are making.  And until you are in their exact situation, you can’t say you would or wouldn’t do the exact same thing.

Legally divorced or not, they were on a break!

Tanya: I’m with you here. If you’re on a break and agree that seeing other people is OK then you can’t get too upset when it happens. That said, I think it would be incredibly hard to get over that if it did happen and if you’re agreeing that boning other people is totally OK now your marriage is probably done for anyway.

Two big celeb separations this weekend.  Apparently Courtney Cox and David Arquette have separated and have been for a while.  Which really is no surprise as they have openly discussed the fact that their marriage has had problems and that they have done lots of counselling.  It is being reported that they are looking to reconcile and that the separation is just a “re-evaluation” of the union.  However, David has apparently been linked to this chick, who has been linked to at least 5 other celebs and also punched Lindsay Lohan in the face.

Then there is celeb BFFs of David and Courtney, Laura Dern and Ben Harper, who are also separating.  Although this one does come as a surprise, especially to Laura, who was apparently “blindsided” by being served with divorce papers.

Divorce is in the air I guess.  Sad.

Tanya: Totally sad I’m not too surprised by Courtney Cox & David Arquette (or Gale Weathers and Dewey Riley as they will forever be known to me) because there’s been talk of them splitting for some time but the Ben Harper / Laura Dern one is weird. Especially since Ben Harper submitted divorce papers that said they’ve been separated for months and Laura Dern had no idea??

Jennifer Aniston is automatically dating anyone she hugs, especially anyone she gives the ‘Aniston Half Hug’ to, so logically the only conclusion to draw here is that Jennifer Aniston is now dating Courtney Cox.

This makes sense though because obviously Gale Weathers would have eventually gotten sick of Dewey and move on. Too bad this means that Jennifer Aniston is going to end up either getting killed or being the killer and Sydney Prescott will have to try and find the connection between herself and Jennifer Aniston.

Update: I was totally joking about them being in Scream 4 together but Star Magazine is now reporting that Jennifer Aniston might be the open sequence victim. Called it! How fantastic would it be if Jason Priestley was the killer?

Update 2: Aniston’s rep says it’s “not true“.

Stacey: That would be awesome if she was in Scream!  She better be able to bring it though.  She would be following in the foot steps of Drew Berrymore, and Jada Pinkett Smith and those two rocked it.

As for the “half hug” you can tell she is very protective/possessive of people she is close with.  Its all in the body language.

Word on the street is that Ashley Greene is pegged to play the lead in the upcoming Scream 4. From Empire Online:

Greene is wanted to play Jill, Campbell’s cousin and the heroine of the piece, while Panettiere would be her best pal, a big film nerd (always a requirement for the terminally self-aware slasher series). Culkin, meanwhile is being lined up as a guy competing for Greene’s love.

Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox and David Arquette are also on board for the film.

I’m super excited for this movie. Remember how many times we watched the first ones??

Stacey: I am super stoked for this movie.  And I am pretty sure we watched this movie at least 50 times.  At least.
