Its true.  We give Megan Fox a hard time here.  Why?  Well, for one, because she says the dumbest things sometimes.  And really, to this point, she hasn’t demonstrated the she has any talent other than her surgically enhanced body and face, one of which, she has gone too far on recently.

But, I will give credit where credit is due.  Recently Megan was cast, along with Dominic Monaghan, in Eminem’s new music video with Rihanna for Love The Way You Lie.  Have you heard it?  It is a great song that finally feels like the old Eminem that actually made good music rather than his music in the last few years that was campy and silly.  But that is beside the point.

The point is that the song deals with the tough subject of domestic abuse and the video is said to show Megan and Dominic going through the various stages.  What is cool about this is that Megan donated the fee that she would have received for the video to the Sojourn House, which is a charity that provides shelter for women and children that have left abusive homes and need a place of safety.  Very cool Megan.

Maybe there is some hope for this young lady after all.

Tanya: Awesome! Props to Megan for this one for sure!

Radiohead's Kid ARolling Stone has released their list of the Top 100 Albums of the last decade. Here’s the top 10:

    1. Radiohead: Kid A
    2. The Strokes: Is This It
    3. Wilco: Yankee Hotel Foxtrot
    4. Jay-Z: The Blueprint
    5. The White Stripes: Elephant
    6. Arcade Fire: Funeral
    7. Eminem: The Marshal Mathers LP
    8. Bob Dylan: Modern Times
    9. M.I.A.: Kala
    10. Kanye West: The College Dropout

And from the Top 100 Song of the decade here are the top 10:

    1. Gnarls Barkley — “Crazy”
    2. Jay-Z — “99 Problems”
    3. Beyoncé — “Crazy in Love”
    4. Outkast — “Hey Ya!”
    5. M.I.A. — “Paper Planes”
    6. The White Stripes — “Seven Nation Army”
    7. Yeah Yeah Yeahs — “Maps”
    8. Amy Winehouse — “Rehab”
    9. U2 — “Beautiful Day”
    10. Eminem — “Stan”

    Thoughts on the lists:

Albums: When Kid A came out I listened to it non-stop for a year. It went from my CD player in my room to my discman and back to my CD player. I only stopped listening to it on a daily basis when Amnesiac came out the next year and it got put into heavy rotation.

8/10 of those albums are really, really awesome. I own those 8 and will listen to almost all of them on a somewhat regular basis. The exceptions are Arcade Fire (which I haven’t heard but now want to), Bob Dylan (which I have heard and think it should not be in the top 10 top anything), and The Marshall Mathers LP (I own it and loved it at the time but don’t listen to it much now; but it should still be on the list.

Overall I have to say I was really surprised that I agree with much of this list. Bob Dylan got more love than he should have and Tool got the shaft but I guess we can’t all win. Except for U2 who I think got every album they released in the last 10 years on the list. They weren’t all that great people.

Songs: “Crazy” is a good song but not the best of the decade. “Maps” might only be famous because of RockBand. “Stan” is a good song, but Eminem had better and other people had better too. As for the rest – no complaints :)

And Stacey – they tell us their methodology! Basically the editors of Rolling Stone picked their favourite bands and then they all (editors and the band members) listed their top 25 favourite albums of the decade. It might just be a coincidence but many of the artists picked to do the voting have albums on the list. I’d totally vote for my own album too!

Stacey: Ok, I can buy Kid A as the best album of the decade.  To be honest, I can’t judge either of these lists very well because I have bought a handful of albums mentioned on this list.  The majority of the albums I bought weren’t commercial hits.  But I am ok with that cause most music now adays is total crap.  I was happy to see Fiona Apple get some love on there.  She is great.

Another truth.  I don’t “get” MIA.  I don’t.  So for Paper Planes to be one of the best songs of the decade…I just don’t know.  But glas to see they have some sort of methodolgy.  Even if I don’t agree with it.  Us here at I Smell Smut have devised an excellent grading system that I feel more magazines should employ :)

Eminem with Bruno's Ass in His Face

    Hillarious.

I didn’t watch the MTV Movie Awards, but I did watch the video of Bruno (Sasha Baron Cohen) landing on Eminem. The video is going up on (and quickly getting pulled from) YouTube so I’m not going to post it here. Do a search. It’s great. Eminem storms out after getting ass in the face. Can’t take a joke. You know the guy that always makes fun of other people but can’t stand it when someone makes fun of them? Yeah. Eminem is that guy.

Stacey: This is totally staged.  Without a doubt.  Funny but staged.  I love Sasha Baron Cohen.  No shame.  One of my favorite characteristics in a person.

Mariah Carey & Nick Cannon at EasterEminem has a new song out where he calls out Nick Cannon and disses Mariah Carey. Eminem calls her a whore, says he wants another shot with her (cause dissing a chick on an album is always a great way to get a girl back), then says Nick Cannon better back the f*ck up.

Nick Cannon’s response was priceless: “You will now be known as the rapper who lost to corny-ass Nick Cannon!!!”

Now Eminem is taking it all back.

He’s supposed to defend his wife, and I expected him to do that. But at the end of the day, it’s a line I said. It’s a song. What I actually meant to say is, I wish them the best. That’s what I meant to say. That’s the whole message of the record.

What? Since when does “your wife’s a whore and I want to kick your ass” = “I wish you all the best”? Did I miss something in White Trash 101?

Oh wait. Is this just all to build hype for the album? He can’t marry Kim again and expect us to take notice so he’s going back to girlfriends from 8 years ago to bring some attention to himself & build hype for the album? Lame.

Eminem, you already have lost to corny-ass Nick Cannon.

Stacey: I am done with Eminem.  I have no interest in his album or what he says.  Take this with a grain of salt as I do realize that we make fun of people and slam them all the time, however, we are not famous rappers who are supposed to be talented. Remember when Eminem had something of value and substance to say?  Now all he is known for is starting lame feuds in hopes that it brings publicity to his album, which I hear sucks ass.  If all he has to say is making fun of people and calling them names he should just fall back into obscurity where he has spent the last few years.  And picking on Mariah and Nick?  Come on now, Em. Pick a fight with someone who actually cares what you think or who is in the same genre as you…like Vanilla Ice.

    Who's greater?
