Beyonce & Jay-Z are chilling in Croatia and B is showing off her baby bump. WOW. I have absolutely nothing but speculation here but I’d say she’s like 6 months along. She did a good job keeping it under wraps. By my estimate she’ll be having a Christmas baby

Stacey: Hehe.  She has a cute little baby belly.  But I suppose this is what a pregnant belly looks like when their is a 6 pack of muscles over top.

I am so excited for this! Beyonce showed off her bump at the MTV Video Awards and effectively announced that she and Jay Z are expecting a baby!!

This is going to be the coolest kid ever. I can’t wait to watch them grow up (wait, does that sound incredibly creepy..?).

Stacey: On second read it does sound a little creepy, Tan.

I know you are excited about this but for me it is just another celeb pregnancy.  And maybe it is just me but I thought it was a little tacky how she revealed it.  For people who are normally so private about their personal lives I felt the reveal was a little…exploitive?  Maybe its just me.

But I am happy for them.

While you are at work today making just enough to cover your mortgage/rent and your car payment, Beyonce and Jay-Z are out in Paris spending more on dinner and a hotel than you spend on groceries and rent for a whole month and are wearing purses and shoes that probably cost close to your annual income.

Both worked super hard to make it where they are today, but still. I’m a little jealous that I can’t just hop on my yacht and go to Paris for dinner.

Stacey: Ya, I am a little jealous too.  But also, I judge them too.  No one person needs to be that wealthy.

Sorry for the slow posts today but there just doesn’t seem to be much going on in the celeb world today while everyone gently eases their Oscar hangovers. Maybe tomorrow will be more entertaining?

We don’t really like to play the baby speculation game too much (mostly because we are anti-procreation), but I thought this would be a fun one to report on because I know how much Tanya loves them.

Us Weekly is reporting from “a source” that Beyonce is preggo with hubby, Jay-Z’s, baby.

I have to admit, I would be excited to see their baby and how cute it is and what kind of name they would come up with.  If it would be a cute little diva like B or a gangster like J?

Please keep in mind this is far from a slam dunk as the details and “source” sound a little sketchy, at the very least.  They are making it sound like it was an accidenta surprise and they weren’t expecting it.  Unlike some people we know *ahem Christina Aguilera ahem*, Beyonce doesn’t need a baby up in order to keep her career alive.  In fact, I think a baby would hinder her career.  She can still sell out world tours ten times over.  Why take a break for a baby when your career is at it’s peek?

Tanya:Eeeee! I hope this is true. Just like I hope Mariah Carey & Nick Cannon really are preggo too – I think babies will suit them. And I’m interested to see their kids’ style. Mimi’s little girl would be all Hello Kitty!, and I think J&B’s kid would be just like Willow Smith – the coolest 9 year old on the block.

I think Beyonce’s career would be fine with a kid. If she still wanted to tour she could (Jay-Z and Beyonce are LOADED, they could bring a whole army of nannies on tour with them) and even if she took a few years off I think she’d be OK too.

The Miami Police Department website people must have thought this would be funny (or are not the sharpest people and thought no one would notice) and decided to put likenesses to Jay-Z on the Gang Awareness page of their website.

Obviously this had gotten quite a bit of reaction and they’ve since taken this “Gang” image down from their site.

Stacey: But didn’t Jay-Z used to be in gang?  Didn’t he used to sell drugs and stuff?  I don’t know.  I think its kind of funny.  Maybe a little offensive, but funny none the less.

Tanya: Jay-Z used to be in trouble with the law, but these likenesses are from albums way after he was already famous and running real companies. These pictures would be more accurate on a “How to Identify A CEO” poster. It would be like taking a picture of Nicole Richie taking Harlow to ballet class for your “How to Spot a Drug Addict” campaign. Sure she used to have problems but it wouldn’t be an accurate awareness campaign.

I think they just used these images because they needed a Black guy and the artist(s) didn’t know how to do it. For that matter, they didn’t know how to accurately draw any other races either. What’s up with the dude in the middle?

TIMEis reporting that Wyclef Jean is going to run for presidency in Haiti.

Why do entertainers think they’re cut out to be political figures? Most of them don’t have the educational or professional backgrounds that would qualify them for it, and pretty much the only things they’ve got are the money to campaign and the name recognition to pull it off. Sure they’re experienced and lying through their teeth (aka ‘acting’), paying off mistresses and hiding their love children, but I’d like to think it takes more than that to run a country.

In honor of this moment, lets look back on some of the other entertainers who think they’ve got what it takes to run for office (or at least were rumored to be):

• Brad Pitt – actor, father of 6, Mayor of New Orleans, Senator (who is pushing for the legalization of marijuana), and President of the United States of America
• Mary Carey – porn star, Governor of California
• Arnold Schwarzenegger – actor, barbarian, Governor of California
• Ben Affleck – actor, director, Congressman
• Alec Baldwin – actor, abusive father, President of the United States of America
• Wyclef Jean – musician, charity frauder, President of Haiti
• Jay-Z – musician, CEO of the ROC, Mayor of NYC
• Lil’ Kim – musician, Asian (?), Mayor of Hoboken, NJ

Stacey: My hubby and I were talking about this because, at first it seems a little absurd.  But maybe Wyclef will be good for Haiti.  From what I know of him, he seems like he is genuinely invested and cares about the people of Haiti and about making the world a better place.  Correct me if I am wrong, but there are a lot of accusations about the Haitian government being corrupt.  Since Wyclef is already rich/famous, maybe he will be able to operate the government in the best interest of the country rather than his own.  But maybe that’s just what I would like to believe.

But just for funsies, I have added a local celeb to the above list:

The Carters and the Smiths headed out for a double date last night at a theatre after party. I’d love to hang out with these guys. I’d get my hair did with Jada & Beyonce while our husbands shoot some hoops. Then we’d all go for a fancy dinner, followed by some night caps on a yacht, and then the next day we’d spend a day on the yacht catching some rays and playing in the water with the Smith’s kids.

Ahhh. The life.

Stacey: Do you think that Jay-Z and Will have Rap Offs?

Tanya: Will probably knows that Jay-Z would school him every time so I doubt it. But I can still picture it, so maybe sometimes for fun?
