Stacey: How is it possible that this woman has absolutely no style?

If you didn’t think it was possible for Julia Roberts to wear a more hideous dress than yesterday than you were wrong!  Because this “kimono” is straight up u-g-l-y.

U-G-L-Y! She ain’t go no aliby! She ugly, hey hey, she ugly!

Tanya: In all her years of promotional tours Julia Roberts has never gone to Japan before which has spawned a lot of rumours that Julia Roberts hates Japan. Honestly, I think that might be true because why else would you wear this nasty kimono on your trip to Japan? That would be like trying to wear a couture Mountie outfit or designer parka ensemble on your trip to Canada. A terrible fashion choice AND a touch of cultural ignorance.

Stacey: This entire outfit is unfortunate.  Maybe we would be a little more forgiving if Julia were a little nicer, but since she isn’t, lets judge her.

We here at ISS aren’t on the Julia Roberts love train, but I do want to give her props for letting nature take its course. I’m sure it’s easier to say “no” to botox when you’re still looking fresh and vibrant at 42 than when you’re old and wrinkled at 65, but when so many young starlets are already filling in their facesat 20 it almost seems rare for an actress to not use botox at 42. And where has Julia Roberts’ ability to use facial expressions gotten her? Well, she is one of the highest paid actresses in Hollywood.

Stacey: While I would like to give her props for this, you know she is saying this looking down her nose at the ladies that have chosen to do this.  She isn’t saying it because she is being nice about it, no no, she is saying it because she thinks she is better than those other women.  While I agree with her in principal, I think she was saying it to put others in their “place”.  Sorry, but this is another check in the “reasons to dislike Julia Roberts” column.

And I don’t mean that in a good way.  Here is Miley Cyrus in her continuing effort to prove to us that she is “all grown up” by acting and dressing like a total hooker.  And I mean that.  This dress is basically an exact replica, minus color, of Julia Roberts hooker gear in Pretty Woman.

Who is dressing this girl?  Or better yet, who is allowing her to dress like this?  If that dress were any shorter, or the camera any lower, we would be privy to some Miley va-jay-jay.  *shudder*

Tanya: Ewww. I vomited in my mouth a little at the thought of Miley vagina. Oh, there it is again *gag*. Imma gonna need some Tums.

So, its no secret that we at I Smell Smut kind of think Julia Roberts is a bit of a jerk.

And its also no secret that we totally love Sandra Bullock.  In our opinion Sandy > Julia.

But now there is actual proof.

TMZ pointed out that yesterday Sandy announced that she was divorcing that d-bag Jesse James and she had adopted a baby boy.  Front page news of People.  Also released yesterday?  The less than stellar “Most Beautiful People” list with Julia at #1.  Normally, the person who wins that crown is front and centre of magazine cover.  Not so yesterday.  Sandy and baby Louise were the big picture and Julia?  Well, she was just a tiny picture on the upper right hand of the cover.  Boo-ya!  Julia, who we know loves to put others down, must be totally hating on Sandy right now.

Another reason for this hatred?  Apparently, Julia turned down the roll in Blind Side with Sandra took and won an Oscar for.

You know what’s terrible?  I am sure these two women have no problem with one another and we are just stirring up trouble where there is none.  Don’t you love celebrity gossip?!?

Tanya: I totally love that cover of People. It’s like Julia is poking her head out of the top corner saying “don’t forget about me!!”. Heheh. I think actors kick themselves all the time for roles that they’ve turned down, but sometimes family/faith/scheduling get in the way. I was reading yesterday that Mark Wahlberg consults his Priest before taking a role – which lead to him taking on The Departed which he might not have otherwise but also lead to him turning down Brokeback Mountain which was probably better with Heath Ledger & Jake Gyllenhaal anyway.

Last year we agreed that the Most Beautiful People of 2009 was pretty good, but this year I don’t feel the same way. Maybe it’s because my coffee tasted like crap this morning, but I just don’t agree with the list. Jakey G and Zoe Saldana, yes. Perv stache Tatum & Julia Roberts no. Julia is pretty on the outside, but I think her bitchiness should bump her from the top 10. And fake tan line Cooper? I’m undecided. When he brings it he really brings it, but when he doesn’t he really doesn’t.

Stacey: What?  I am straight up objecting to this list.  Tanya, maybe we should do our own beautiful people list.  We talked about it last year…maybe this is our year?

Tanya: Yes we should. Start keeping notes of beautiful people and when the magazine with the full list comes out we’ll school it.

Update: I just talked to my grandma who went to see Valentine’s Day this afternoon and the words to describe it were “dumb” and “stupid”.

Stacey: I can’t imagine it would be anything but those things…my question is why did all these people agree to be in it?

Tanya: My grandma said “those people must have owed the studio some time because I don’t see why they would have agreed to be in it”

Julia Roberts & Jennifer Garner are both in that movie Valentine’s Day (which stars pretty much everyone) and at a recent press junket during interviews Julia said this:

“You are quite slim.”

Jen: “I just finished nursing. I’ll soon plump up again.”

Julia: “We’ll stay tuned for that.”

Is it just me or was that incredibly rude? They started filming this movie shortly after Jen had Seraphina so she was still carrying her baby weight. Now it’s been over a year and she’s lost it (the pic above was taken yesterday, February 4th). Calling her out on it in front of the media? Low.

I don’t think I’d want to be friends with Julia

The irony of all this is that Julia Roberts isn’t carrying much extra weight around either. Sure she dresses frumpy which tends to make her look a little heavier, but she’s a lean woman herself.

Stacey: America’s sweetheart my ass!  This woman seems like she is a giant bitch.  While I think Jennifer Garner is boring, at least she is nice.  As Julia gets older, she seems to get meaner.  Maybe stealing husbands and birthing babies isn’t agreeing with her.  Hey lady! Just because you have an Oscar doesn’t make you better than everyone else! When was the last time you did anything relevant?  Keep in mind, you are in this crappy movie too!  Don’t take your self hate out on Jen just because she is younger and thinner than you.
