    Julia Roberts & Javier Bardem
Socialite Lifeis reporting the Eat, Pray, Love is gonna be a movie and that Julia Roberts has been cast as Elizabeth and Javier Bardem will be her Indonesian lover.

Julia Roberts is a good fit for this role :) Imagine Julia Roberts being casted to play you. Pretty flattering. lol, Stacey, with our luck Tori Spelling and Ashley Simpson would get cast to play you and I (boooo!).

I read the book, liked most of it (didn’t dig the Indonesia section, to be honest), but I’m not too gung-ho about the movie. It’ll be a ‘girl’s night’ renter.

Stacey: I need to be honest here.  This book did nothing for me.  I tried to get through it, I really did.  It took me about 5 months to get through India and Italy, when finally I just needed to give up on it.  Its the only book I have ever started and not finished.  I know I am probably offending every female who reads this website but there was nothing in the book that I could relate to, which I think is why it is so popular; because so many women relate to the main character.

With that being said, I will probably see the movie.  And Julia Roberts is perfect for the lead role.  Javier Bardem though?  He’s not Indonesian.  Was the guy in the book actually Indonesian?  See, thats how little this book interested me.

As for who would play me in a movie of my life?  I always thought Drew Barrymore would be a good me, but that’s strictly me just wanting to meet her.  Although, lately, with her attire, I am not sure that would be true anymore.  I could see Anne Hathaway playing you, Tanya.

Tanya: I could totally see Drew Barrymore playing you. :) Anne Hathaway? Not someone I’d have guessed, but I’ll take her! Or Scarlett Johannson, I think she’d be a good “me”. lol, now to do something worthwhile enough to get a movie made…

Ok, by now I am sure you have all heard about Julia Roberts dropping the f-bomb at a ceremony honoring Tom Hanks (love).  I first read the article on People and all I could think was “what a stupid cow”.  The article made her come across as self centered and pompous and condescending.  But then Lainey posted the actual video.  And I watched it.  And it made me think of two things:

    1. How much I love Julia Roberts.  And as Lainey points out, that is how a star does it.  She may be a fame whore, but there is something about Julia that makes her so likable and watchable.  She said things that had someone else said it would have been offensive.  But she made it so tongue in cheek and witty!  It made me think of how few true stars there are out there anymore.  We are in the “reality tv” age, where anyone can have their 15 minutes.  But seeing Julie reminds me of how it should be done, how you can’t learn it, how you are born with it.  I, myself, am not a star like Julia.  I am an observer.  My hubby…he is one of those people; the ones that have the “it” factor.  That people love to be around, love to listen to, who are funny all the time, and who make it look easy.

    2.  How easy it is to be misquoted or how awful things can come across in print.  Because once I watched what actually happened, I saw how funny it actually was and how much people seemed to enjoy it.  Print.  The mother of all evils…

PS.  Why isn’t she in any movies anymore?

Tanya: She just released Duplicity with Clive Owen. Anyone seen that yet? Her speech for Tom Hanks is actually really funny and heartfelt. Vid below.
