With the Breaking Dawn release right around the corner, this pictorial of Kristen Stewart in W Magazine is probably the first of much publicity of the cast members to be shoved down our throats.

Ugh.

But, this picture of Kristen is actually really pretty, I think.  And it’s nice to see her doing something other than her normal emo-type styling.  I almost didn’t recognize her…but maybe that is more to do with the over processing of the photo.  Perhaps a tad too much photoshopping?

Tanya: I didn’t recognize her at all. But I am totally digging this look. As questionable of an actress as KStew is (I really want to like her as an actress but it’s not that easy) I think she has a lot of potential in acting and as the face of many different brands, if she wants to be.

So, when did Snow White wear armour?

The only part of this that I’m looking forward to is that a) Charlize Theron is super hot, and b) it doesn’t have Julia Roberts in it.

Stacey: While Charlize is totally hot I think this poster looks silly.  And I think that this movie seems silly.  But what do I know?  Maybe it is totally going to rock.  And like you said, Tan…no Julia Roberts.  Which totally = awesome.

Awwww!

For a couple that’s incredibly good about keeping their romance out of the spotlight, it’s rare for us to get any Robert Pattinson & Kristen Stewart PDA. But here it is. And I gotta say it makes me like them more. Weird, hey?

The two left the Water for Elephants premier together and they actually look really happy. <3

Apparently, Kristen Stewart read for the part in the new Superman movie, starring Henry Cavill (oh!  And also being produced by Chris Nolan).  Now, keep in mind this only a rumor and not substantiated by any real facts other than reading it on Celebitchy.  I don’t know, could be interesting.  I could see it.

Oh, PS.  The only reason I picked this picture of Kristen is because I am curious what is going on in that pocket of hers.  It looks like she might be enjoying it a little toooo much.

Tanya: LOL! She’s totally playing a little pocket pool. We need a good female alternative to that…. she’s totally “beating around the bush”?

I think she’d be a good Lois Lane. Or at least I think it would be a good role for her because then she’d at least get to play an empowered woman instead of an insecure one.

Best Movie Poster Ever.

So who really was the worst  of the worst last year? Here’s the list of the movies, actresses and actors who are nominated for sucking BIG TIME last year. Mostly it’s The Last Airbender, Twilight Eclipse and Sex & the City 2, but you can check out the full list and our opinions after the jump. But first I’d like to defend Twilight Eclipse: sure the acting was full fontrum, and the directing was pretty bad but it is EXACTLY the same as the book and you know the author was on hand to make sure it stayed that way so I’m putting most of the blame for that movie on her, not on the people trying to make it less lame.

Bella & Edward on their Honeymoon

So Breaking Dawn is filming right now and people are getting all excited about what Bella Swan’s wedding dress will look like. People have thrown around names of some pretty great designers who could be designing it but alas, now it’s rumoured that the plan has changed:

“It’s hideous. And it’s not the designer’s fault. Let’s just say someone who has final say on the matter has decided upon a terribly conservative and ugly gown.”

It’s sad because “Conservative” does NOT have to = “Ugly”. I have seen some fantastic uber-conservative and traditional wedding dresses in my day.

Why can’t Miss Meyer (because we know who that someone totally is) just accept that other people might be able to improve on her work instead of insisting on the creative death grip?

Stacey: “In my day”.  Tan, that makes you sound old.  And Stephanie Meyer is insane, that’s why.

Eclipse is opening this weekend, as if you didn’t already know.  And we all know that it is going to break all kinds of records.  Are you going to see it?

If you have been reading here long enough you know that this site started basically so Tanya and I could banter back and forth about…Twilight.  In fact, I think our very first post was about Taylor Lautner.

But between now and then, something has shifted.  I am really not all that excited about Eclipse.  Why?  Maybe because I have started to realize how shallow and hollow this books really are; how little literary value they actually offer.

Tanya got me hooked on Harry Potter this past February.  And I am on the last book right now. And I was just telling Tanya about how much I love these books.  Because, while they are about wizards and witches, these books are real.  They have real characters with real depth and real problems.  And these real problems have real consequences.  Characters die.  Important characters.  Characters you love and when they go, you cry for them.  Unlike Twilight which panders to the teenage girl hormones.  And there are no consequences for any actions; not for kissing someone who isn’t your boy friend, not for fighting extremely dangerous enemies, nothing!

Nothing real happens in these books!  And if any of you say”But Edward and Bella fall in love”, I am going freak out.  Because falling in love at 17 or what ever she is, isn’t real love; its lust.  And both Edward and Jacob are terrible love interests because they are both equally bad for her.  And Bella is the most annoying, selfish character ever written; an extension of Stephanie Mayer’s selfish desires and wishes.

And here to better support my point is an article that Lainey posted.  Its a long read, but its a good one, about why this movie series is so bad.

With that being said, am I going to see Eclipse?  Yes.  But not until its in the cheap theatres.  And I won’t be wearing my “Team Jacob” t-shirt this time.  IN fact, I will probably go in disguise.  And be ashamed of myself the whole time.

Tanya: Eclipse brought in $30 million in it’s midnight showing – which broke the record that was held by Transformers: Rise of the Fallen (Revenge of the Fallen?? Don’t make me look it up). Wow. That’s a lot of girls sneaking out past curfew to watch a movie.

Robert Pattinson was recently asked about the whole Kristen Stewart using the term “rape” when describing being hounded for photographs.  We discussed it briefly here, but over all decided we still love her.

Apparently, R Patz didn’t take to kindly to it.

That whole system of Internet journalists, where no one is called to account, is almost entirely about hate. All these people get away with doing it because they have no responsibility to anyone.”

All they need is to get a salacious headline and people click on it, because it’s easy. And it’s quite good being part of these ‘Twilight’ films because you have to give so many interviews all the time, you can defend yourself. That’s the only way. All of us stick together, as well. There are so many little nerds behind their computers, on their little blogs”

Well, maybe we are a little but…..but……We’re rubber and you’re glue and what ever you say bounces off of us and sticks to you.

To be fair, we do get to say whatever we want without much repercussion.  But, I would also say it to their faces too.  Would I tell Ashton Kutcher he is a douche?  Totally.  Would  I tell Coco I love her ass?  Hells ya!  Would I tell Lindsay Lohan to get her crap together.  Absolutely!  Would I tell Kristen she used an inappropriate word to describe something, that while it is intrusive, isn’t as bad as being raped?  Yes I would.  And if that makes me a nerd then so be it!

I am Nerd, hear me roar!

Tanya: I LOVE the photo you used for this. So appropriate. Pift. Whatever RPattz. You think we don’t know we’re nerds? ‘Cause we totally do. And we know that we’re a little more open because we don’t have any accountability to anyone. So there!

Kristen Stewart had another great fashion hit at the Swedish premiere of Eclipse. Love the metallic look and the asymmetric concentration of the detail on her dress. The girls gams don’t hurt either.

And Taylor Lautner… well… he looks the same. I think I’d rather see him in a suit than the ‘business casual’ look he’s got going on. Or maybe in some sneakers. Or with a t-shirt under the blazer. Something a little more unique. Come to think of it, what I want to see is something with a little personality.

Stacey: Yup, K-Stew looks awesome.  And Taylor, well, he looks totally boring.  But I am the opposite as you, Tan, I am glad to see him in something other than a suit.  It always seems like he is wearing the same suit.  But those shoes are horrific. And the jean shirt needs to go.  I think he needs a new stylist, someone a little more daring. 

But they are playing it safe, right?  Again, an appropriate crush for a younger girl, and not alarming to the parents.  Come on, wouldn’t you be thrilled if your daughter brought home Taylor rather than, lets say, Trace Cyrus?

I know you probably won’t agree with me but I love this dress on Kristen Stewart.  I think she is rocking it.  Not so much with the hair, the hair looks messy and unkempt but the dress is hot.

I love that she is taking risks on her fashion.  She is young, hip, beautiful, trendy, and alternative so why not, right?
