Rachel McAdams was photographed recently riding the subway in Toronto with some strange homeless man.

Oh…no, wait.  That’s not a homeless man.  That is her boyfriend, Michael Sheen.  What is happening here?

Why is he dressed like a homeless man?

Tanya: Sure Michael Sheen looks like a hobo but Rachel McAdams is wearing hot pants with rain boots which is just as bad. Maybe this is them being in disguise so they didn’t get spotted.

I think I need to add these two to my list of favorite celebrity couples.  Because I absolutely love Rachel McAdams and Michael Sheen.  I love them as actors and I love them individually, and while I may not love Rachel’s pant suit, I love them together.  They just seem so…I don’t know….normal?  It also helps that we don’t see them all the time.  Because they aren’t shoving their love in our faces at all times, it seems really authentic.  Yay!

What I really want to know is what Michael has that is so appealing to women.  I really like him and everything but dude is pretty average, right?  But he lands the hottest chicks.  First Kate Beckinsale (he’s her baby daddy) and now Rachel.  He must have a magic stick.

Tanya: These two are great together, and apart, but I can’t get past those pants. It’s like her crotch is 3 feet long.

Michael Sheen is currently promoting Tron: Legacy and this is his idea of how to get people to see the movie?? Gross. Wasn’t someone trying to argue that Michael Sheen was hot a while back? I think it’s time to take that statement back.

He kinda reminds me of the guy that played Gomez Addams in the old school Addams Family (quick check: that guy is John Astin).

Stacey: Tanya, did you watch Addams Family recently because that is your 2nd reference in 1 week?

This look IS terrible.  But I like Michael so I will give him the benefit of the doubt on this one and assume it is for a movie.  Or maybe MOvember?

I don’t think he is hot though.  Ever.  But I just think he awesome.

Tanya: Movemeber is over and he’s been out without this in November so I don’t think it has to do with that. And no, I have not watched the Addams Family recently though I think that this may be a sign that it is time to.

Did you know that Micheal Sheen is the Baby Daddy of Kate Beckinsale’s daughter Lily? I didn’t.

Stacey: Tanya, what are you talking about?  I did a huge post on that like a year ago.  He played Lucien, the head of the Werewolves in all The Underworld movies.  Ya, Kate left Micheal for her hubby while they were filming the first one.  Scandal!  Apparently its all very civil though.  Boring!  Glad to see you are reading my posts, Tan.

Tanya: hahaha, I read the post but it was about an actor I don’t really know (Michael Sheen) in a movie I’ve never seen (Underworld) so I guess it didn’t click. I’m slow.

Rumour from the TIFF is that Rachel McAdams & Micheal Sheen are a new couple. Weird.

One thing I noticed when we went to see Eclipse is when Dakota Fanning justified Sheen’s absence from the film “his decisions are being watched” to me that translates as “Summit didn’t have the budget for him this movie”. Or maybe his character just wasn’t in Eclipse? I don’t remember.

Stacey: Lainey had a really great post about this rumor as she was covering TIFF and was at the location where the rumors all started.  I totally hope that this rumor is true.  I love these two and think they would be awesome together.  Maybe people could finally move on from the whole McGosling thing.  Love this!

Here’s Johnny Depp, Anne Hathaway, Mia Wasikowska, Michael Sheen, Tim Burton and Helena Bonham Carter premiering Alice in Wonderland in Paris.

According to the cast it’s ‘kid friendly’ and Helena says her 2yr old didn’t find it scary at all, and Johnny Depp said his kids (Lily-Rose & Jack) “loved every character. They weren’t freaked out by it whatsoever.” I don’t know how much I trust these guys kids. I’ve seen how Helena and Tim dress on a daily basis (same as these photos but more black) so they’re probably not afraid of much.

That said, what’s up with Helena Bonham Carter’s shoes? Did she have to walk to the premiere or do you think she bought them that way? “Do you have these ones in a muddy cream?” I have a strange feeling that she made them that way. Bought some new shoes, then wore them in some puddles to get a ‘unique’ effect. Helena, if we’re the same size I’ve got some old dirty shoes you can borrow for premieres. Not even borrow, you can just keep them.

But I do love her Queen of Hearts clutch, and she has some hearts on her dress too. This is custom made ‘hot mess’ specifically for the premiere. I’m excited to see what she wears to the next premieres. Love Anne Hathaway & Mia Wasikowska’s dresses. And I have to say that Michael Sheen is really growing on me as an actor.

Stacey: I would love to be a fly on the wall in her seamstresses studio…”She wants me to make what?  But she will look like a homeless bag lady.  What?  Thats the point?  Ok, I guess I can make something kinda like that”. 

And for the record I love how Johnny Depp dresses…LOVE!

Summit Entertainment has been doing a good job keeping New Moon and Eclipse in the news lately. First the casting for Leah Clearwater and now some shots of the Volturi. Dakota Fanning looks awesome. I can’t wait to see her in action!

Side note: I’ve had several people embarrassingly admit that they also want to go see New Moon when it comes out and have asked if they could come with us – the more the merrier! And yes, you are more than welcome to pull out your wigs, dark glasses, and hats so you don’t get recognised as going to see a Twilight movie on the opening week. We’ll probably do a later show on a school night to avoid as much of the screaming teens as we can, and I think some pre-show cocktails will be in order.

Stacey: We’ll have to do a New Moon group viewing.  Get all those out there with the guilty (or not so guilty) pleasure and see the movie together.  You know, for support.  If we are in a group, we can’t be judged…as much.

Is it wrong that I think Michael Sheen as Aro is hot?

*GASP* Aro a Werewolf?  Can it be true?!?!?

I watched Underworld: Rise of the Lycans this weekend.  I had not seen the first 2 and the reason this on interested me was because it was werewolves against vampires, and the only reason I was interested in that was because of Twilight.  I found myself compairing the two through out the movie and resenting that the mythology was different, saying things like ’in Twilight the Vampires are waaaaay stronger than the Werewolves” and “Vampires don’t actually burn in the sunlight”.  I feel as though I have been brainwashed….

Anyways, in this movie the main character was Lucien, a werewolf, who falls in love with a vampire, who eventually becomes pregnant with his child, a mixture of the two breeds.  The whole plot is about them fighting for their love and the two sides fighting blah blah blah.  The movie was ok, but I really liked the person who played Lucien, who was also apparently in the first movie as well. So, I did some digging on google and found that Lucian is none other than Michael Sheen who has been cast to play Aro in the New Moon!  Since it was the long weekend, I ran out and rented the first Underworld to see more of this character.  When they first announced Michael as playing Aro, I was unsure that he would be the right guy.  I mean, his pictures are a little wimpy looking, not exactly the person that would instill the fear that I think the Volteri would.

After seeing the Underworld movies, though, I am thinking he may be a good choice.

Interestingly, though, Michael Sheen also has a 10 year old daughter with Kate Beckinsale, his co-star in Underworld.  Apparently, they were together before they started filming the movie, but broke up during that time because she was involved with the director, Len Wiseman, with whom she later married and now has two children with.  Scandal!, I thought.  Apparently not.  While the initial break up was messy, they are reported to still be very good friends and share custody of their daughter and look forward to working together in the future.  How very civilized and grown up.

In keeping with out OMG!OMG!MOG!Twilight!!!! theme, I thought we should note that the role of Aro, head of the Volteri, has been cast.  The Daily Mail is reporting that Michael Sheen has been taped to play this role.  I haven’t seen him in anything before but he apparently played Tony Blair in The Queen and Lucian, a werewolf, in Underworld: Rise of Lycans.

I will have to say I envisioned the Volteri as being really, really old and this guy is not exactly what I had in mind.  THIS is what I had in mind, but that was already done in Underworld.

So, as much as I would like to think this isn’t true, my opinion isn’t the only one that counts…what do you think?

Tanya: I like this choice for Aro. I had always imagined the Volturi as being the same age as Carlisle, around mid-30s. Jamie Campbell-Bower might be a bit young for this role as Caius, but overall I think this will be a nice sinister group of Volturi. I especially love Dakota Fanning being Jane (heart!)

Question: Why don’t any old people turn into vampires? Do vampires not bite them because they’re old and might taste like jerky?

Stacey: Biting an old person would be very un-sexy.  Thats the whole appeal of vampires…that they are sexy.  Unless one of the vamps had an old person fetish I don’t think we will be seeing any old vampires any time soon.
