Because I am so proud of all of our Canadian athletes, I need to take a minute to brag about the 14 gold medals that were won at the Vancouver Olympics. Way to go Canada! Thank you to all of the athletes who trained so hard and dedicated so much of their lives to competing on behalf of our country! Congrats to all the athletes who won a medal and thank you to each and every one of the athletes who competed at the games. You made us all proud!
And because I am super biased to hockey, particularly men’s hockey, how awesome was that game yesterday? Double Gold (men’s and women’s) on home soil! The entire country is in one big mass celebration today. So proud of our boys to go out there beat our arch rival and bring home the big prize! It was a pleasure to watch the best our country has to offer on the ice at the same time. Even though we may hate some of the players during the regular season, you can’t help but love them a little when they brought us home that gold! Woohoo!
I am kinda sad the Olympics are over though. We just recently got cable at our house so that we could watch the Games. What am I going to do now that they are over?
Tanya: Yay Canada!! I didn’t watch much of the Olympics but what I did watch filled me with Canadian pride

We did AWESOME! And how great was the men’s hockey game to finish it all off? Olympic overtime for the gold. So amazing. The only way to get more patriotic is to cook up some bacon, slather it with maple syrup and wash it all down with some local beer while wearing your “Canada” jersey/jacket/body paint. Mmmmmm. I think I need to go make some breakfast…. -

Just wanted to give a shout-out to our ladies hockey team for bringing home the gold and for being a bunch of baad ass b*tches who are in trouble with the IOC for drinking beers and smoking cigars on the ice.Hats off to you ladies for kicking ass and keeping it classy, the Canadian way.
Stacey:Firstly, I would like to say that I am so proud of them for winning gold. And while I think its ok to celebrate (hell, they won Olympic gold!) I also feel that you need to do it in a way that is respectful to your competitors. And while we can get into a huge debate over whether or not athletes are roll models, the fact of the matter is when you are on they Olympic team, you are an ambassador for our country. This was inappropriate. I would be ashamed if this was how the world viewed us. This is something that I would expect from the Americans (remember how they put our flag on the floor of their dressing room), not the Canadian girls.
