Yesterday the celebs all flocked to Coachella to take in some good music. I debated whether I should open this post with a pic of a ripped Kellan Lutz or one of Alexander Skarsgard dressed in non-offensive pants (but still wearing a sweater at an outdoor music festival?) but instead decided to go with Danny DiVito because it ties in with our recent talks of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Danny DiVito is a funny enough looking guy, he really doesn’t need to be wearing Crocs.

Stacey: Tanya.  You decided to put up a pic of Danny DiVito instead of Kellan Lutz?

Do you think that the celebs camp in the dirt with the rest of the peeps that head to Coachella or do you think that they receive some kind of special treatment?

Tanya: No idea. With the amount of effort they put into their appearance each day I’d think that they go home each night and come back the next day or stay in a hotel or something. Maybe they have souped up RVs?

Hahaha! Super cute. Robert Downey Jr has lent his voice to Mr Peanut and I gotta say, Mr Peanut has always been the epitome of class with this top hat and monocle, but RDJ really pushes the classy level up a notch. I hope they’re making a whole series of commercials

This is why I love Robert Downey Jr.  Because he is open and honest about his past drug abuse, but also takes ownership over his past mistakes and has learned from them, rehabbed his image, and become one of the top leading men out there.

“You take responsibility, whether you’re outraged by the results or not”….”People who think “‘I’m a victim; I’m being victimized!” are “out of line.”

We didn’t really report on it here but apparently Edward Norton was recently booted from the new Avenger’s film where he was set to reprise his role as the Hulk.  Ed is notoriously difficult to work with as he expects a lot of creative control and is really hands on.  Ironically, his temper got him fired from playing a character who is famous for his temper. Anyways, there was some he said/she said after the studio released a scathing letter about him.  Which left everyone wondering who would fill his shoes for the much anticipated role.

With Comic-Con running this past weekend, the the actor was revealed.  Apparently, the new Hulk will be played by Mark Ruffalo.  Hmmm.  I am neither excited or disappointed by that.  I guess I really liked Norton as the Hulk and was disappointed by his dismissal.  And I like Mark Ruffalo a lot, but as The Hulk?  Not sold on it.

Here are some of the cast promoting the movie at Comic-Con this past weekend.  Tan, when are we going to Comic-Con?

Tanya: Really? Mark Ruffalo? I guess I’ll have to see the movie to decide on this one. And Comic-Con in Calgary isn’t nearly as cool as the one in wherever this is, but we can go next year if you want. ISS day trip?

Did you watch last night?  I watched.  So I figured I would do a quick round up for you peeps.  However, I won’t be doing an award by award recap so if you want to see all the winners, click here.

What did I think?  Firstly, boring!  Like, nothing about this Oscar’s stood out.  Except for maybe Neil Patrick Harris (above).

Other than that, dresses were boring, speeches were boring, Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin were really underwhelming…so over all for me, thumbs down.

Best parts for me were Sandra Bullock winning for Best Actress.  Seriously, that girl is so amazing.  Second, Ryan Bingham, won for best original song, got up on stage and thanked his wife saying “I love you more than rainbows, baby”.  It sounds cheesy, but in his sexy southern drawl, I almost died.  I can’t find the video otherwise I would show you.  And they were making fun of it on the radio this morning, but I don’t care.  I wish someone loved me more than rainbows.

Favorite dresses, Jennifer Lopez and Maggie Gyllenhaal.  I know you guys don’t like Maggie but I love her and her dress.

Least favorite, Sarah Jessica Parker and Zoe Saldana.

Hottest guys…Jeff Bridges and Robert Downey Jr.

Most annoying moments.  Ben Stiller in Avatar get up trying to be funny but mostly just being a jack ass.  And the crazy red headed woman who hijacked the Short Film winners speech.

So, that’s it, peeps.  I won’t be going into much more depth than that.  Because, really, I am sure you will be sick of all the coverage by the end of the day and you may want to come her for reprieve.

Tanya: Go Sandra! She is now the first actress to win a Razzie for worst actress and an Oscar for best actress in the same year. As for the fashion: I like all of the ladies’ dresses that you posted. Even RDJ’s wife’s (her name slips me at the moment). Hottest guys Jeff Bridges & RDJ?? I don’t know about that. I’m going to have to look at some other photos.

Stacey: Ya, but all the other guys that were there were guys like Ryan Reynolds and Gerard Butler.

I liked Sam Worthington but I couldn’t find a great picture of him.  And Keanu Reeves but he was only on there for a moment.

And whats wrong with RDJ?  He was on our Hottest Guys list…

Robert Downey Jr was kind of a funny one for us.  Truly one of both of our all time favorites but this was one of the guys that when put into an actual grading scale didn’t score as high as we would have thought.  Why?  Well, for starters, he is getting older.  Granted, he seems to be getting better with age, things like his hot old body couldn’t compete with some of the hot young bodies.  However, RDJ’s charisma is second to none which really saved him.  I mean, come on!  I DARE you to not like him.  RDJ is one of the coolest mother f-ers out there.  He is awesome. 

With that being said, his lust factor was a little low. Not sure why, just lower than one would think.  Don’t get me wrong, RDJ is a sexy beast, but the sexiest?  No.  And I am going to admit, and I am a shallow person for saying this, I judge him a little for dating Sarah Jessica Parker.  I do.

One thing you may notice is that his Sleaze Factor is sitting at a 5.  I know, I know, it seems…low, right?  I mean, we are talking about a guy who has done a stint in jail, been in and out of rehab for heroin addiction, and do you remember the time that he trespassed into a neighbours’ house, loaded out of his mind, and fell asleep in their bed?  Wild!  But rather than dooming him because of his troubled past, Tanya and I decided that he deserved some brownie points for being such a good guy over the last few years.  He is married, has a baby, and has gotten his career back on track.  Come on, we can’t penalize him forever!

Ultimately, RDJ is a classic.  He is quirky, funny, sexy, and which one of us can resist that sexy salt and pepper hair?  I can’t.  And the guy was Ironman for pities’ sake.  Superhero = hot!

Tanya: RDJ definitely earned his place here. He hasn’t always been worthy, but he’s pulled himself together – great career, a stable home life, and a sense of humility about it all.

Robert Downey Jr Gets a Star on the Walk of Fame

OK, so we have been pretty focused on doing some good research for our Hottest Guys of 2009 (read: staring at photos of hot men all day) that we’ve been pretty bad with covering all the other stuff. So here’s a quick roundup of what’s been going on:

Stacey: Sorry for being such bad bloggers lately!  We promise, once finals are done we will have time to re-dedicate ourselves to the smut. 

Tiger Woods has apparently slept with everyone but me & Stacey, or do you have something to tell me Stacey? – People - Stacey: Nope, not sleeping with him. I think we maybe the only ones!

Robert Downey Jr calls Jude Law “Hotson” (get it, Hot Watson?) – Celebitchy - Stacey: He must be reading our Hot Guys list.

Russell Brand wants to give Katy Perry bigger boobs a baby – CNN - Stacey: Better a baby than an STD.

Tea Leoni & David Duchovny for no other reason except that I like them – Lainey Gossip

Weezer’s tour bus was in an accident, Rivers Cuomo is a bit banged up and their remaining concert dates have been cancelled – NME - Stacey – Sad day.

Ok, Miss Comic Book Geek (psst, Tanya.  That’s you!).  This is the cover of Entertainment Weekly featuring Robert Downey Jr, Scarlett Johansson and Mickey Rourke.  Thoughts?  Are you excited for the second one?

Me, I thought the first one was good but people around me built it up too much.  They said it was better than Batman.  Sorry people, but nothing is better than Batman.

I am not familiar enough with the story line to know what to expect next or how the characters should be played.  I have been told by another very reliable comic book geek (Psst, Nate.  That’s you!) that RDJ played Tony Stark to a T.

Tanya: I’m not very familiar with Ironman either. I didn’t even know about it until the last movie. Which I expected to be awful (it’s RDJ). But it was good and RDJ really came back strong with it. He did great, I really liked Pepper Potts, and the storyline itself was interesting.

Expectations for Ironman 2 = 0. It’ll be a renter.
