So earlier in the week Bradley Cooper was named People Magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive.  Tanya and I both decided we were a big, fat “meh” on this.  Not that we don’t think Coops is hot…but the hottest?  Meh.

Apparently fans of other celebs felt the same way.  But the super fans of Ryan Gosling took crazy town to a whole new level by picketing People over their decision.  Yes, you read that correctly…picketed.  I guess they felt his not winning this meaningless title was one of the world’s greatest injustices.

Super-fan (read: CRAZY fan) Matt Stopera had this to say: “We are devastated,…. “[Gosling's] left arm alone makes him the Sexiest Man Alive. Hello, look at his abs!”

Please.  Read that sentence again.  Digest it.

I shake my head.  Is this what our world has come to?  Picketing a magazine over their sexiest man choices?  Just bring it down a notch, peeps.  You are embarrassing yourselves. And Ryan.

Tanya: I never used to be a Ryan Gosling fan but he is HOT. I’d have him as the sexiest. Especially as he’s had like 5 movies come out this year (don’t quote that, it’s just a guess). Although… I head that Ides of March was terrible and I can personally attest that Drive was a big pile of suck.

Next up we have Ryan Gosling & Eva Mendes who were seen getting “cosy” at Disneyland over the weekend. Actually, I dig this couple. They seem like they would be fun, but still down to earth enough to actually have a real relationship.

Stacey: Eva has a real thing for co-stars.  I remember she fell really hard for Joaquin Phoenix when they worked together too.

I think I like these two together…but I am not sure yet.  They certainly look hot together.

‘Before anyone gets mad at me I would like to preface this post with a warning.  You all know that I am a fickle bitch and I judge people for the stupidest things so what I am about to say shouldn’t really surprise anyone.

I have always been on the fence about Ryan Gosling.  And I know many of you get the hard core quiver for him but the fact that he reminds me of my cousin totally kills any quiver that I may have had for him.  And he is kind of a hipster.  Not really my thing.  And when this picture was making the rounds this week, all the bloggers were gushing over how cute he is with his dog.  Awww, look at him being a nice owner and carrying him up the escelator.  Not me.  First thing I though was “What the hell did he do to his dog?”.

It is one thing to dress like you are wearing your pajamas at Cannes. I mean, it is your body, if you want to look like a dork, (and, IMO, slightly pretentious) be my guest.   It is an entirely other thing to make your dog look like a dork.  And giving your dog a mohawk falls into that category.  This dog looks ridiculous.  There is no reason to do this to a dog other than to make a statement…what that statement would be, I’m not sure.  But don’t bring your dog into your games.  It’s a dog.  Let him be a dog.  Not a fashion statement.  Dogs have no concept of self image…the only person this is benefiting is Ryan.  And I thought he was above this type of stuff.

Am officially over Ryan Gosling.  And judging him a little.

Ryan’s dog should run away and join this dog.  At least then he would be getting paid to look stupid.

Tanya: I think dogs with mohawks look extra cool.

I’ve always wanted to shave my cat but leave her mane, feet fur and a tuft on her tail to make her look like a lion. I know that she’s super vain though and it would totally give her a complex.

I don’t know why I love this picture but I do.  It is awesome.  Ryan Gosling is obviously really excited? happy? surprise? to see Christina Hendricks.  Hehe.  It gave me a case of the lols.

Maybe he is thinking “Have you seen this chick’s boobs?  They’re huge!”

Ryan Gosling at the photo call for his movie Drive in Cannes and I think this getup was inspired by a pair of pajamas. Even the shoes are like “house shoes” that he could wear around the house while smoking a pipe. All that is missing is a silk house coat/smoking jacket.

Ryan Gosling has a new movie coming out called Crazy, Stupid, Love and who really cares what it’s about because I’m pretty sure none of us superficial ladies are going to critique any movie that involves a shirtless Ryan Gosling.

Stacey: As I have previously mentioned, Ryan looks a lot like my cousin and therefore does absolutely nothing for me.  And the veiny-ness near his nether region is kind of grossing me out too.

I don’t think either Stacey or I are too hot on Ryan Gosling because neither of us post about him much, but here his is in some photoshoot for some magazine. Ryan is still making the rounds promoting Blue Valentine. I’d actually like to see that one but it’ll be a renter.

Stacey: Yup.  “Meh” for Ryan Gosling.  But I do want to see Blue Valentine.  A renter for me as well.

Ryan Gosling is taking it up with McDonalds over their treatment of chickens.

“Dear Mr. Skinner, I was shocked to learn from my friends at PETA that McDonald’s, a company that claims to be an industry leader in animal welfare, still allows its suppliers to use an outdated chicken slaughter method that results in broken wings and legs and causes birds to be scalded to death in defeathering tanks.

“Many of McDonald’s suppliers in Europe already use a much more humane slaughter method that eliminates the worst cruelty. What’s your excuse?

“Because no federal laws govern the treatment of chickens during slaughter, the responsibility lies in your company’s hands to create and maintain a high standard of animal welfare. I hope you will agree that the time has come for McDonald’s to truly take action to reduce the suffering of chickens killed for its restaurants. I look forward to hearing your decision. Thank you. Sincerely, Ryan Gosling.”

Ryan wrote a similar letter to KFC in Canada 2 years ago and according to JustJared“just days later, the company that coordinates the purchase of chicken for all Canadian KFCs agreed to phase in the purchase of 100 percent of chicken from suppliers that use these methods”.

I’m not a vegetarian, but knowing what I do about animal processing facilities makes me want to be one. Just the thought of what we feed the animals we’re about to eat, the filth they live in and the things we do to them really disgusts me. I’m hoping McDonalds listens to him so I can eat my Nuggets and no longer feel shame and repulsion.

Fact: McDonald’s is the USA’s second largest purchaser of chicken (next to KFC).

Stacey: I am a bit of a hypocrite when it comes to this.  I was a vegetarian for like 9 years because I have a hard time with the idea of eating an animal.  However, I also think that animals are delicious. 

And I am 100% for the ethical treatment of animals.  Even if they are just being produced to be eaten, I think they should be treated humanely.  But I loves me some McChicken sammiches.  So, iff they could come to me with out the chickens being tortured, that would be great.  Thanks for spear heading this mission Ryan

I know some of you ladies are all hot for Ryan Gosling, so here he is! Woo! More Gosling! He is still in Sundance with his mom promoting his new flick Blue Valentine. I hear there are a lot of sex scenes so if you’re a Gosling fan you might want to check it out

Stacey: As previously mentioned, Ryan reminds me toooo much of my cousin so he is a no fly zone for me.  But I know that he brings the quiveration for a lot of you ladies out there.  And really, why wouldn’t he?  Hanging with his mom while at Sundance when his Hollywood counterparts are prbably off banging groupies at parties?  So sweet!  He is a good Canadian boy.
