How much does it cost to have kids? Here’s what the Jolie-Pitt’s spent last year:

• $5 million on private jets
• $900,000 on nannies for each child
• $36,000 on food for the kiddies
• $1 million + on private tutors that travel with the family
• $63,000 on birthday parties
• $220,000 on private cars
• $153,000 on activities

OK, so just because you have 6 kids doesn’t mean you have to spend $5 mil on private jets, but it would still be expensive. Guess that’s why they’ve both gotta keep working. That and the fact that staying home with 6 kids all the time would probably drive anyone insane (hence the $90,000 fee for each of the nannies).

Stacey: First of all, I would like to know where these numbers came from…$900,000 for nannies for each child?  That doesn’t make any sense.  But I also don’t have any kids, so what the hell do I know?

Tanya: The numbers come from the Daily Mail. The nanny number is because they are looking for a new nanny and are said to pay $90,000 per nanny (not sure how 90,000 x 6 = $900,000 but I’ll just run with it). $90,000 to hang with the Jolie-Pitt’s sounds pretty awesome, but if you want to be a nanny you have to have a few qualifications:

They will also be required to travel between California, New Orleans and France, as well as other film locations around the world.

As well as a degree in education or child development, Brad and Angelina are demanding the nanny should speak at least two different languages, as well as the native tongues of their children.

Have you ever been to a birthday party where a bunch of kids are whacked out on sugar? I imagine that is what Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie’s house is like all the time. That right there is why you need nannies.

The National Enquirer is usually good for a laugh and this week is no exception. Check this out:

These photos could look kinda crazy if you believed the headline, but we’ve seen these photos before. Celebitchy rounds up where they’re all from and how non-violent they are. Maddox is chewing his coat, Pax was excited for ice cream and Shiloh was headed to the toy store. Zahara is the only one you’d have to watch out for here and I don’t think she’d be violent – shifty and manipulative maybe, but not violent.

(side note: me saying that is about as factual as the National Enquirer store that they’re crazy violent. Go figure.)

Stacey: Ya, those kids look really violent.  Especially that Shiloh.  Mean looking, isn’t she?  *eye roll*

Although, I love the picture of Charlie Sheen.  It really sums him up well right now.

The first of the Jolie-Pitt’s biological children, Shiloh, was out recently rocking this super awesome outfit.

I need to get one of these.  Except my size.  Although it probably wouldn’t look quite as cool on me.

I also enjoy the sword.  It gives the ensamble a certain je ne sais quoi.

Tanya: I think you could pull off the jacket, but not the sword. And definitely not the sword with the jacket.

Awesome!! Last summer the hubby and I went on a road trip out to Vancouver Island and we did the zip lines in Sooke and Nanaimo and it was so much fun! As was the bungee jumping and the tree top obstacle course. One of the best times ever

Anyway, here’s Shiloh Jolie-Pitt doing the zip line in Budapest while her siblings stand around and watch? Not sure if they got to go too, but they’re not in any of the photos I’ve come across. Sucky for them, fun times for Shiloh.

Update: Found one of Pax doing the zip line too. Zahara? Nope. Maybe she’s too good for that. Also included one of Shiloh sucking her thumb so you can secretly judge the Jolie-Pitts’ questionable parenting (come on, don’t pretend you weren’t).

Us Magazine is reporting that while Maddox, Pax and Zahara all got to go trick or treating (dressed as a Chimney Sweep, Mad Scientist and Spring Fairy, respectively) Shiloh had to stay home with the twins because she was sick.

Poor kid! I would have fought my mom tooth and nail over that one. I’d have to be so sick I couldn’t even walk to miss out on Halloween.

Stacey: Ya, but these kids don’t live the same lives as we do.  Halloween probably means squat to them.

PS.  What the heck are Brand and Ang dressed as?

Tanya: Brad is Yo Gabba Gabba, and Angie is… I dunno. That photo’s from last year, the article didn’t mention if they dressed up at all this year.

Stacey: Tanya, haven’t you learned anything from blogging in the last year and a half?  Celebrities are better than we are, silly.  They get preferential treatment because of that betterness.  Unfair to us?  Sure.  But they don’t care.

Ok, so I have already declared that I would like to be adopted by the Garner-Afflecks.  And if I were to be adopted by them there is one family I would for sure want to be friends with (besides the Smiths, of course).  And that would be the Jolie Pitts.  Not because of the parents though.  Because of the kids.  These kids look like they would be so much fun to hang out with!  Minus the smacking in the face, which is surely just brotherly love.

Seriously, each of them seem like they have so much personality.  Miss Zahara is my favorite but Pax’s little suit  with his news boy cap is killing me.  And look at little Maddox getting older!  Do you remember when Angie first adopted him?  And Shiloh looks so adorable in her “montenegro style“, whatever that means, strolling around with her hand in her pocket all chill.  So awesome!  I am sure hanging with them would be super chaotic with tons always going on.

Hey guys!  When I move in with my new family do you want to come to the park and play on the swings and the jungle gym with me?  Then maybe we can get some ice cream or something.  Let me know, ok?

Tanya: While these kids are the epitome of “cool kids” they also give me the vibe of exclusion. Like you’d approach them in the park and they’d stop playing, all stand in a line and be like “why do you think you can talk to us?” Stacey, if you end up being friends with the Jolie-Pitt kids can you please ask them to be nice to me?

As you all know, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are my least favorite celeb couple, but on occasion, I do have some nice things to say about them.  And this is one of those times.

They have been catching  a lot of flack lately for letting their daughter Shiloh dress like a boy and cut her hair short.  Apparently, to some people, this is bad (???).  News flash, peeps, not all little girls need to wear pink and dress in lace and play with Barbies.  And Angie apparently feels the same way:

“Children should be allowed to express themselves in whatever way they wish without anybody judging them because it is an important part of their growth.”

“Society always has something to learn when it comes to the way we judge each other, label each other. We have far to go”

Here here!  I applaud them for their parenting style.  Letting kids be who they want to be is so important to a child’s growth.  The minute you start trying to change who they are, that’s when beliefs and fears are formed that will shape them for the rest of their lives.  Imagine being a 4 year old like Shiloh and people telling you that you need to dress differently or act differently and not being able to understand why.  Now imagine being her and being allowed to be who you want to be.  How freeing and empowering it would be to be taught to embrace who you truly are.

Tanya: Agreed! I think it’s WAY better for kids to play around with what they want to wear, how they do their hair, etc than to be pigeon-holed into “right” and “wrong”. There IS no right or wrong way to dress as a kid! I think it’s much more important that they dress how they want and not for acceptance. There’s more than enough of that coming around the corner for them at school.

This was too cute not to post. Here’s Grandma & Grandpa Pitt out with the 4 oldest grandkids in Venice. Do you think being constantly followed by the paps would make things easier or harder? If the kids ran away it would all be documented, but that’s still a lot of kids to handle regardless.

And Pax holding grandpa’s hand? Awwww! Grandpas are the awesomest.

Stacey: This is a really cute picture.  Quite frankly I was concerned as I have only ever seen Brad’s parent’s with the twins.  I was starting to think they didn’t like the other kids.

Look at how big Shiloh is getting!  And I totally love Pax’s hair do!
