Congrats to Tina Fey!

While promoting her new book Bossypants Tina Fey spilled the news to Oprah that she is 5 months along with baby #2.

Stacey: Wow.  5 months already.  I am surprised she was able to keep it a secret for this long.  Congrats!

I didn’t watch the SAG Awards so I have nothing to comment on except for how well/poorly these ladies are dressed. Currently I am in love with Tina Fey’s dress. And her hair and make-up. From what I’ve seen so far I’d have to say she’s one of the best dressed of the evening.

Stacey: I did watch last night but I did not see Tina.  However, this picture of her is amazing.  The color looks incredible on her.  None of the dresses really wowed me last night.  Except this one.  So good to see her in something other than black!

I’m totally just making this up based on the photo but does it not look like Tina Fey is totally all giddy and shy to be hanging out with Brad Pitt on the red carpet for the premier of Megamind?

Sure they just filmed together for awhile and if she was crushing on him she’d probably have control of herself by now, but it’s more fun to make up stories based on the pictures that to get caught up in “facts”.

Stacey: Either that or or she is uncomfortable with that weird man creeping so close behind her.  Or she enjoys it.  It could go either way.

Tina Fey is now the youngest person to have been awarded the Kennedy Center for the Performing Art’s Mark Twain Prize for American Humor.

The chairman of the Kennedy Center sang her praises:

Like Mark Twain, Tina Fey offers her brilliance unconditionally,” said Kennedy Center Chairman David M. Rubenstein “Throughout her career, she’s earned legions of fans for her quick, unapologetic wit and social commentary.”

The co-executive producer explains a little more about why they chose Tina as the recipient for 2010:

“She’s politically conscious, she’s a writer, she’s a filmmaker, she’s a producer, she’s a performer,” Mark Krantz, co-executive producer of the Twain salute, said. “Her body of work is as inclusive and far-reaching as anyone else’s, and she’s just funny.”

“kind of broke the ceiling for many, many women in comedy”

Cool! Tina Fey has certainly contributed a LOT to entertainment over the last decade or so and most of her stuff is truly great. Keep it up Tina!

Maggie Gyllenhaal – WTH is up with those breasts? Did she look so much weight that they are just empty sacks that have no shape and she had to pick them up and fold them to get them into the cup? Creepy.

Katy Perry’s dress has LED lights in it (in case you were wondering why it seemed to be glowing).

And Tina Fey. I can’t even start.

Stacey: See, and I don’t hate the pant suit.  I wouldn’t wear it myself but I htink it suits Tina.  As for Maggie.  I love Maggie.  Didn’t love the dress.  But I am not going to make fun of her boobs.  Because those look like the boobs of a woman who has had a child.  And then didn’t give in to the preasures of Hollywood and had them “fixed”.  And thats part of the reason I love her.

As previously mentioned, I like Katy’s dress. 

Did you see Christina Hendricks though?  A rare miss.  And it was a big miss.  The color, the shape, its horrific and should be banned from the face of the planet forever.  And ever.

And Kristen Stewart?  So disappointing.

Ok, ISS peeps.  I am off for a vacation for the next 3 weeks and probably won’t be hitting up the blog too much.  Please forgive me for leaving you but a girl needs to get some R&R every now and again.

But before I depart, I leave you with some Tina Fey totally rocking Esquire in this photo shoot.

How much do you love this picture.  Seriously, I saw it and thought “oh honey I have been there”.  Not the girl barfing at the bar, but the one holding your friend’s hair back and warding off the evil looks of all those judgemental bitches walking by.  Only once did I ever up-chuck at a bar.  This is the lowest point of any woman’s life.

Anyways, will miss you all over the next little bit and will think of you when I am rockin’ it out in Miami and the WMC.

IMO this is not the lowest point in a woman’s life. It’s not a high point by any means but I’m pretty sure getting trashed and hugging the bar toilet is better than waking up naked in a strangers bed with a couple of dudes and having no recolection of what went down. Haven’t been there myself, but given the choice I’ll take the bathroom floor.

Remember the film Mean Girls?  Ya, it was pretty good, Tina Fey wrote it (who rocks) and it made Lindsay Lohan a big star.  It had some other awesome chicks in is too; Rachel McAdams, Amy Poelher, Lacey Chabert, and Amanda Seyfried.  Amanda has since gone on to other things like Mama Mia and Alpha Dog.

Apparently the girls haven’t really kept in touch since the 2004 movie and when recently asked about it Amanda said this:

“Mean Girls was such a long time ago and we definitely haven’t stayed in touch. And while we are on the subject, I can’t stand her.”

Oooo….Zing!  She wasn’t holding back, was she?

That is cattiness at its best.  I love it.  While I do think this makes Amanda come off as really mean I do think it’s super funny.  Amanda may not have liked LiLo then but she was probably unable to say it as Lindsay with the shit and Amanda was kind of a nobody.  Now, Lindsay is a pariah and Amanda is a rising star.  So funny.  Its like high school all over again.  The pretty, mean girls turning on each other.  Life imitating art, I suppose.

Tanya: I haven’t seen Mean Girls, but I’d like to. Can’t seem to get the husband to go for it. Mama Mia I expected to suck big time, but I actually really liked it (in a “this is the cheesiest movie I’ve ever seen” way). And I liked Amanda Seyfried, she was fantastic. And now that she’s being a b*tch to Lohan, I love her even more <3
